Unbeaten in their last four outings in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championships, Warwickshire will be looking to extend that run when in their next fixture on the weekend of the 14 / 15th February they travel to take on local rivals Staffordshire.

The Longwood Winter league have been involved in their division two divisional cup. In the first round there were wins for Queens ’A’, Queens ’B’ and Three Horse Shoes, with the Mercian having a bye. The semi finals saw the two Queens teams square up to each other, with the ’B’ side coming out on top. In the other last four game Mercian defeated the Three Horse Shoes. The final between Queens ’B’ and Mercian will be played in April.
In a rearranged division one league fixture the Winning Post accounted for Red Lion ’A’ with a 7-1 scoreline to keep them in third place two points adrift of leaders Globe and only one point behind second placed Dolphin.

Team secretaries in the Sheldon and District Winter league should note that their next league meeting is this coming Sunday at headquarters, Lea Hall Sports and Social Club. All teams should be represented.

Tipton’s men, for many years have set the pace in the West Midlands Super league, are doing exactly that again and a convincing 7-2 victory in their latest fixture away to Smethwick keeps them right on course for yet another championship. Chalking up a similar 7-2 success was Chadsmoor, who on their own board accounted for Willenhall. Other results saw Warley beat Blakenhall 6-3 and Darlaston, with a 5-4 result take out Oldbury.
In the women’s section there were 4-1 away wins for both Smethwick and Wednesbury at the expense of, in turn Willenhall and Wolverhampton. In the tie between Great Wyrley and Wednesfield, the former got the close 3-2 verdict.

The Cross Guns, Rodway Close, Newtown, Birmingham have been running a series of three “Sunday Lunch Time Knockouts” and this coming Sunday is the last of the scheduled three. Match play will commence at 1-00pm. In addition to the guaranteed £25 prize money all entry monies will also be paid out in prizes.
