A Look Back in Time - 07.09.2005
As a result of their win, a 7-0 whitewash over bottom of the table Hobsons Choice, Navigation have moved into pole position in the Kings Norton 501 Summer League. However, it may be only a temporary elevation as previous leaders Camp, who are now level on points with Navigation have an outstanding game with Man on the Moon and a win would see them return to the top of the table.
Stirchley United and Fordrough both have 16 points, the former just ahead on average following a 6-1 win against Perfection, while the latter won 5-2 at the Greenwood.

Greenlands continue to lead the field in the Rik-Fit Summer League, two maximums from R.Faulkner helping them to a massive 8-1home win over Old Mill to give them 18 points from ten games. Second placed Hawthorns beat their nearest rivals Greenlands Flights 5-4 to keep with two points of the leaders, Greenlands Flights dropped to fourth in the table behind Navigation who beat Dingle Social 6-3.

Surprisingly all three fixtures played in group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League finished with the same result 4-4. Even more amazing was the fact that all group three games resulted in 6-2 scorelines. Wins for Brook Meadow, Raven and Yardley Ex Service Colts over respective opponents Lea Hall Sports and Social, Sheldon Social and Shard End RBL ’A’. Adding to the week of incredible results was group six. Only two games played, but Old Bill and Bull won 6-2 at Victoria Social and Small Heath Amateur Gardeners beat Sedgemere Flights by, .......that’s right 6-2!!!
There were 180’s for C.Thomas jnr (Hen and Chickens), J.Hazell (Raven), P.Hill (Yardley Ex Colts), P.Maund (Harvester) and R.Evans (Pavilions).
----------------------------------
Robbie Earl suffered a setback to retaining his Brook Meadow Individual League title when he took on current leader Mark Birch and lost by the odd game 2-1. With games now running out Earl is five points adrift and it appears at the moment that there could well be a new name on the winners silverware come the end of the campaign.
Fastest game of the week went to Keith Kelly, a thirteen darts leg against none other than Robbie Earl, however, Earl battled on to win the tie 2-1.
----------------------------------
The Tamworth Cue Sports League began their new season and division one’s Red Lion ’A’ got it off with a tremendous 7-1 success at Two Gates Club. They were closely followed by Globe who beat White 6-2, then there were 5-3 wins for Queens ’A’ and Red Lion ’B’, who in turn accounted for Cue Sports and Dolphin.
Hopwas are the second division top scorers, again a 7-1 win, this time at the expense of Boot Inn.
----------------------------------
Hillyfields maintained their 100% record in division one of the Harborne and District Summer League with a 5-2 win against Quinton Members Club, making it fourteen straight victories. With a somewhat surprisingly close 4-3 win over bottom of the Raven, Midland Red stay in second place, six points adrift with a game in hand.

Cup semi finals were on the agenda for the South West Birmingham Clubs Summer League. First the Bob Price Memorial Trophy in which Perfection made their way to the final with a convincing 6-1 victory over Tascos Brunswick, in the Divisional Cup E57 had a close 4-3 win over Greenlands, while in division two with a similar 4-3 margine Longbridge United took out Bournbrook Arrows.
