There were shocks for the two top teams in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League. Both Bartley Green Social Club and Highlander suffered home defeats against respective opponents Harborne Stores and the Raven. No such problem for division one leaders Weoley Castle as they accounted for Stonehouse Flights with a 6-3 scoreline.
In the league’s quarter finals of the Skipp Cup the George chalked up the biggest win, a 13-2 success against Ladywod Social. Other teams progressing to the semis are Bartley Green Social Club, W.C.WMC and Harborne Stores.

The remaining two undefeated teams in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League, Raven and Midland Red, squared up to each other this week on the Raven’s board. The result was a convincing 7-2 win for Midland Red, despite a terrific 170 game shot from Raven’s B.Davenport.J.Marshall (Highlander) notched a maximum as his side beat Ladywood Social 6-3.
In division two, G.Grant recorded a 160 break to help his team, Avenue Social to a close 5-4 verdict over Village Stump. Cock Inn handed out a 9-0 whitewash to Stonehouse Ladies.

There was no change in the Forest of Arden Winter League as the top three teams all won this week. Red Arrows, with an eight darts game from Craig Hall, plus a 180 and a nine darts leg from Brian Allen beat Cock and Hens 6-3. Hobs Meadow Mixes had a close 5-4 win at home to the Harvester, while Hobs Meadow had the best win of the week a 7-2 success away to Mackadown Social.

With 3-0 wins over Gordon Clinton and Derek Fardon, Peter Allen has returned to pole position in the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League. With 44 points Allen is three ahead of his nearest rival David Platt, Richie Shenton losing ground and dropping to third place after his 2-1 defeat at the hands of Barry Stephens.
Maximums were supplied by Harvey Tebble, Chris Forsyth and Richie Shenton. The fastest game was by Chris Forsyth, an 11 darts leg against Steve Cain, John Morris jnr had a 14 darts leg as he lost 2-1 to Harvey Tebble.

The Sheldon and District League have reached the quarter finals of their Denis Houlders Trophy. The draw for the last eight is, Castle Vale Residents ‘B’ v Malt Shovel ‘A’, Castle Vale Residents ‘C’ v Brookmeadow, Three Horse Shoes ‘A’ os Three Horse Shoes v Brookmeadow Arrows, Mackadown Social ‘A’ or Sheldon Dukes v Saltley Gardeners ‘B’. All games are to be played by Thursday 23rd May.
More than 150 players took part in this years singles knockout, which resulted in a tremendous night of darts at Lea Hall RBL. No game was any better than the final between Mac Elkin (Brookmeadow) and Frank Dixon (British Telecom Club). Frank opened up with a ten darts leg and narrowly missed his double for a 2-0 victry. Elkin took the second leg on double ten and clinched the title with double thirteen.

The Sheldon Summer League will be holding a meeting at Lea Hall RBL on Sunday 19th May at 10.30am. All teams must be represented to collect match books and fixtures. The new season will get underway on Thursday 30th May.
