A Look Back In Time - Alan Towe 14.11.2001
The two Hobs Meadow teams continue to impress in the Forest of Arden Winter League. Leaders Hobs Meadow have won all five of their fixtures, the latest being a 6-3 home win over the Highwood, while Hobs Meadow Mixes travelled to Farringdon Social and returned with a similar 6-3 victory to maintain their 100% record of four wins.
Mackadown Social chalked up their first win of the campaign, an 8-1 verdict as they played hosts to the Cock and Hens.

Harborne Stores extended their unbeaten run in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League to maintain their number one position. Second placed Punchbowl were also in fine form as they accounted for Bartley Green Social Club with a 6-3 scoreline. The George, after leading 4-1 against Ladywood Social, left it late to claim their victory, the very last game.
In division one L.Jordan (Bartley Green F.C) had a 152 break and checked out in 12 darts. However, it was not enough for his team to avoid a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Highlander Ladies, New Inns hit top form recording an 8-1 win over Pheasant Flights, Avenue Social were close behind with a 7-2 success against Village Stump.
----------------------------------
Despite losing 2-1 in the Minworth Social Individual League, Tony Pedley became the first player this season to win a leg against Mark Hollyoake. Following his 2-1 win Hollyoake reverted back to his previous style of straight wins and beat Gordon Clinton 3-0. The match between Rob South and Tony Randall was a cracker with both players hitting a maximum and each of them having a 14 darts leg. But, there has to be a winner and it was Randall who got the close 2-1 result. Reigning champion Dave Shorthouse had 2-1 wins over Gary Mills and Steve Hawkes.
In addition to South and Randall (2), Dave Shorthouse, Steve Hawkes and Steve Davis also hit a 180.
