Highlander were top scorers in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League as they ran out 8-1 winners at Hillyfields. T.McGlone (Midland Red) recorded ten throws of 100 or more in his sides 6-3 home win over Ladywood Social.
In division two Hobsons Choice moved a step closer to the tilte with a close 5-4 verdict against the Pheasant.

The Harborne and District Winter League will be holding their AGM on Sunday 1st September at league headquarters, the Hillyfields, Quinton Road, Harborne at 11.00am. Two 3-0 wins over Alan Mayell and Harvey Tebble has seen Peter Allen take over pole position in the Minworth Social Individual League. HAving played 25 games Allen has accumulated 108 points. John Ainsworth is currently second on 103 points from 27 games, but reigning champion Mark Hollyoake is third seven points behind Allen with a game in hand.
Gordon Clinton was this week’s top hit man with two maximums plus a ten darts leg in his 2-1 win against Richie Shenton. Best finish of the week, 164, went to Derek Mountjoy. Unfortunately it was the only leg Derek won as he lost 2-1 to Carl Betteridge.

In addition to being in pole position in the Minworth league, Peter Allen looks as though he could well be on for a unique double as he also tops the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League. With 115 points from 28 games Allen is four points clear of the rest of the field with a game in hand.
Congratulations to Steve Cain jnr as he recorded his first win of the season. Having previously played twenty eight games Steve reached his milestone with a cracking 2-1 win over Harvey Tebble.

A 5-3 win over Three Horse Shoes has seen Stechford Social replace Shoes at the top of group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League. This was Shoes first defeat in seven and leaves them trailing by one point. There was a top of the table clash in group three as leaders Hobs Meadow handed out a 5-3 defeat to second placed Sheldon Heath Social. Hobs are now five points clear. In group sixMillhouse lost their 100% record when their nearest rivals Old Bill and Bull beat them 5-3 to reduce the arrears to just one point.
In round two of the league’s Mrs F.Richman Trophy there was convincing 6-1 wins for Hen and Chickens, St Annes and Castle Vale Residents Association, who in turn took out Lea Hall RBL, Glebe Community Centre and Sedgemere Flights. Also going through to the quarter finals are Saltley Amateur Gardeners, Iron Horse, Shannons, Malt Shovel and Stechford Social.

Saltley Flights have extended their advantage to six points at the top of the Small Heath League. A 7-2 win over Ward End Ex Service maintained Flights 100% record, while second placed Black Horse surprisingly went down 6-3 at Red Devils.

Queens Head have lost their number one spot in the Longwood League following their 6-2 home defeat by Red Lion ‘A’, who have now gone into pole position by one point. Queens share second place on 16 points with Plough and Harrow and White Lion.

After only five fixtures Shannons have opened up a six points lead at the top of the Camp Hill and District League, Red Devils and Black Horse are the two nearest contenders.

The Aston Darts League will be holding their AGM at the King Edward, Lichfield Road, Aston on Sunday 1st September. This coming Sunday the Belgrave Sports and Social Club, Wilnecote Lane, Tamworth will be hosts for the Group 8 play-off’s of British Champions Cup. Participating in the men’s event will be representative teams from Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and for the women Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and West Midlands.
