Tom Ryan (29.94) was the ‘B’ side man of the match as they strolled to an 8-4 win. Both ladies teams chalked up wins. The ‘A’ side won 5-1, Trina Gulliver’s magnificent 30.06 average gave her the lady of the match award, while in the ‘B’ teams 4-2 success Pat Thornton took the trophy with her 20.41 average.
West Midlands travelled in the opposite direction, south to Wiltshire. Both men’s teams won 8-4, Ian Jones recording a tremendous 34.95 average in the ‘A’ side’s win while Frank Johnson clinched the ‘B’ award with a 27.33 average. The ladies teams did just enough to give the West Midlands an overall 19-17 victory as the ‘A’ lost 5-1 (Angie Perry 20.67) and the ‘B’ went down 4-2 (Sue Smith 19.45).
