Midland Red, reigning champions of the Wadsworth Cup in the Harborne and District Winter League, stormed into the second round of this seasons campaign with an convincing 8-1 win at the Bugle Horn, P.Clifford chalking up an eight darts leg in the process. Bartley Green Social Club and Stonehouse had 7-2 wins over Ladywood Social and Harborne Stores, while Avenue Social, Hobsons Choice and Travellers Rest in turn defeated Coronation Club, Quinborne and StonehouseFlights 6-3.
The George were only able to field five players. However, those five were enough to beat Golden Cup 5-4.

In the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter league P.Vasey (Three Horse Shoes) and J.Pears (Saltley Amateur Gardeners) both had 160 breaks as their teams beat respective opponents Sheldon Heath Social 7-2 and Sheldon Heath Social Dukes 6-3. Stechford Social won by a similar margin at EBAHA with their D.Grainger scoring a maximum. R.Lucas also hit a 180 for the Dovecote in division two as they finished with a 7-2 reversal at home to Shard End RBL.
The best individual performance in the third division was supplied by P.Horsley (Rooster Arrows) who recorded a 6-3 win against Lea Hall RBL Mixed.

McDwyers were in form in the Small Heath and District league beating Custard Bar 6-3. On the ball for the winners were T.Constable who had an eight darts leg and D.Stokes who together with his scoes of 2x100 had a 130 break plus nine and eleven darts legs. Saltley Flights M.Birch broke with 160 as his team went down 5-4 to Sheldon Flights. In the other fixture played Victoria defeated Red Hill 6-3.
The league are staging a 24 hours marathon on the 18 and 19 December at the Gables Tavern, Muntz Street, Small Heath. In addition to the darts there will also be Pool, Dominoes and other pub games, all in an effort to raise cash for the Childrens Hospital and Burns Unit. Seventh Trap were the only team to win away this week in the Amber Windows League, beating Lyndhurst 7-2. K.C.A. with a 160 break from T.Kelly also won 7-2 against the Woodman, while Heartlands in their 6-3 success over King Edward 7th, had a 160 break from M.Nunn plus a 180 by T.Carroll. J.Averill (Mitre) was another man to find the three treble twenties as he and his team mates took out the Yew Tree Colts 5-4.
Vauxhall Social had the weeks biggest win, 8-1 against Aston Social. Bagot Arms beat Old Oscott Social 7-2.

Bedworth Bank’s, leaders of the Warwickshire Men’s Super League, continue to impress their latest fixture away to Coventry Bishopsgate producing a 6-2 victory. Birmingham Midland Red lose their second placing as a result of their 5-3 home defeat at the hands of the Birmingham Vauxhall who have now taken over that second spot. Coventry Howitzers keep the pressure on the leading trio with a 6-2 win at bottom of the table Warwick Town

No change at the top of the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League as top team Selly Park had an important 12-9 win over their nearest rivals Acocks Green. Still little joy for bottom team Sutton as they went down 13-7 to Sheldon.

There was a shock for Red Arrows, reigning Forest of Arden Winter League champions, when in the final fixture of the first half of the season, they suffered an amazing 5-4 defeat at home to bottom of the table Mackadown Social. Following their 5-4 win against Silver Wings, Stechford Social have now taken over the top spot on 12 points, two clear of their rivals. A further two points adrift of Red Arrows are Hobs Meadow who had a terrific 7-2 away win at the Cock and Hens, who prior to the match were level on points with Hobs.
