In the Forest of Arden Winter League Brian Allen helped Red Arrows get back into winning ways with a 180 in his team’s 5-4 home win over Mackadown Social. Stechford Social’s Paul Jones was another man to hit a maximum despite his team losing 7-2 at the Silver Wings, while a 160 break by Dave Hougham (Harvester) was the highlight of his side’s 5-4 victory at the Poachers Pocket.
League leaders Hobs Meadow were involved in a tough local derby against Hobs Meadow Mixes. The result was a 6-3 success for the top team to keep them well on course for the title.

The Harborne and District Winter League have been busy playing off their Larner Shield and Individual competitions. In the three a side Larner Shield the George supplied both of the teams in the final. The victors were V.Gould, E.Simpson and S.Heeley who defeated fellow team mates A.Stevens, J.Cannon and T.Cannon. The winners had previously beaten another team from the George in the semis, while the runners up had accounted for a Midland Red outfit.
The Individual title was won by I.Butler from the Bartley Green Social Club. Butler won the event with a 2-1 success against Midland Red’s T.McGlone in the final. In the semi’s McGlone had chalked up a 160 break to defeat Raven’s T.Hamilton 2-1, Butler had beaten D.Johnson from the George.

On Sunday the 11th March the Sutton and District League will be holding their AGM at the Minworth Social Club. Following their shock 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Red Lion (Wilnecote), Dolphin have quickly returned to winning ways with a 5-3 success against the White Swan (Kingsbury). This latest win keeps them in pole position in division one of the Longwood Winter League with 17 points, two ahead of their nearest rivals White Lion ‘A’ who coud only manage a 4-4 draw at the Red Lion ‘A’ (Polesworth). Keep a close eye on Three Horse Shoes, despite currently lying in fourth place on 12 points, they have two games in hand on the leaders and wins in both of these would see them leap into second place.
Only average seperates the two top teams in division two, Railway slightly ahead of the Wilnecote Club. Railway hosted Royal Oak in the latest fixture and recorded a resounding 7-1 win. Wilnecote meanwhile were not too far behind with their 6-2 home success over Red Lion (Polesworth).
