With three fixtures remaining Hobs have a six point’s advantage over second placed Silver Wings. Wings maintained their challenge with a 5-4 success in their home tie with Hobs Meadow Mixes, Tom Keating chalking up a 160 break in the process.

With 160 breaks from P.Brotherton and D.Bourne, Midland Red proved to be too hot for Hillyfields to handle in the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League. Division one champions Highlander continued in their winning way’s beating W.C.WMC 6-3, while second division champions Bartley Green Social Flights finished their fixture card in style with an 8-1 success against Highlander Ladies.

P.Sinnett chalked up a 180 and 12 darts leg for Hillyfields despite his team going down 5-4 at the Ladywood Social. Village Stump were top scorers in division two as they whitewashed Stonehouse Ladies 9-0. Bartley Green Social Flights and Coronation Club both recorded 8-1 wins against respective opponents Stonehouse Flights and Highlander Ladies.

Congratulations to Dave Shorthouse on retaining his Minworth Social Individual League tile. With 128 points from 31 games Shorthouse was four points clear of second placed Trevor Frost who had pipped Tony Randell to the runners up spot by just one point.
Frost may have missed out on the championship but he more than made up in the Singles Knockout, where he clinched the crown with a final 7-4 win over Tony Randell. Shorthouse made it a tremendous double when he teamed up with Derek Mountjoy to win the Doubles title. The successful duo defeated Steve Davis and Steve Shenton 6-3 in the final.
