The quarter-finals of the Presidents Cup has been the agenda for the Forest of Arden Winter League. Earlier in the month Hobs Meadow inflicted the first defeat of the campaign on the Highwood, but Highwood got sweet revenge when they travelled to Hobs and beat them 5-4 in the cup. Highwood’s local rivals, Highwood Arrows were also successful as they took out the Harvester with a 6-3 scoreline. Glades and Sheldon Heath Social Flights had similar 6-3 wins against respective opponents Stechford Social and Three Horse Shoes.

Mark Hollyoake has moved into joint pole position in the Belgrave Individual League following his 2-1 win over Ian Gould and 3-0 success against Terry Clinton. On level terms with Hollyoake is Mick Smith who beat previous leader Andy Hanslow and Mick Chater 2-1.

With only a handful of fixtures remaining in the Oldbury Sunday morning league Fox Tavern ‘B’ appear to have the title sewn up. With 90 points from 13 games, they are 24 clear of their nearest rivals Oldbury United, with Red Fort third a further four points adrift.

Congratulations to Gary Taylor on winning the Club 99 Classic 4 league title. Out of a total prize money of £450 Taylor collected £100 for his efforts.

Midland Red, leaders of division one of the Harborne and District Winter League, with the help of a 180 from D.Bourne, had a comfortable 6-3 home win over New Inns to keep them two points ahead of second placed Bell, who romped to an 8-1 success at home to Highlander.

The top two teams met in division two, with Smethwick Labour consolidating their number one spot, beating second in the table Hillyfields 5-4, to leave them two points adrift.

Heartlands enforced their challenge for honours in the Small Heath league when they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to bottom of the table Gables Tavern. Second placed Custard House kept within two points of the leaders with a 6-3 win at the Black Horse.

In the Longwood league the Dolphin lost ground in the title race, when the best they could do was to draw 4-4 at the Royal Oak. They now trail the Red Lion ‘A’ by two points after Lion won 5-3 against the Queens Head, who are third in the league a further two points behind.

----------------------------------

Shannons, with a 6-3 win at the Black Horse ‘B’ maintained their four points advantage at the top of the Camp Hill and District League. Antelope are currently second, they beat Black Horse ‘A’ 5-4.

----------------------------------

In the West Midlands Men’s Super League, Tipton reduced the gap to just three points, when they defeated top team Wednesfield 5-4 and with a game in hand could take over the top spot. Wolverhampton head the ladies table, with 23 points after a 3-2 win against Wednesbury. Warley, who are second, level on points with Wolves, have played one game more.
