Congratulations to Tom McGlone who on Saturday 15th September became a legend in the history of the Warwickshire Darts Organisation as he played his 200th game in the BDO Inter County Championships. Playing away against Yorkshire Tom was paired against Tony Molyneux, unfortunately he lost 4-1, a win would have been the icing on the cake for Tom but nevertheless recognition for his achievement is something he should be very proud of and something he will never forget.
The C’s Club Double Top League played off their Double Knockout and in the first of the semi-finals Dave Kingdon and Wayne Cooper lost out 3-1 to Neil Parsonage and Melissa Beale. The second semi was a 3-0 result going to Mitchell Mann and Jamie Carter as they accounted for Steve Whatmore and Charlie Kingdon. The final was extended to the best of seven legs and with a straight 4-0 win Neil Parsonage and Melissa Beale defeated Mitchell Mann and Jamie Carter to take the title. With no fixtures to play in week 16 of the Shirley Premier League Steve Sidwell slipped to second place in the table one point behind new leader Phil Thomas who after winning 3-1 against Sean Talbot and Leigh Clutterbuck has 95 points from 32 games with Sidwell having two games in hand. Mark Henderson holds on to third place, he completed his final two games of the season having a 2-2 draw with Trevor Carter and winning 4-0 against Tony Daly to give him a total of 93 points from 33 games plus a lead of eight on Tom Bent in fourth place who still has two more games to play. Lee Harris hit an impressive three 180’s on the night one against Mark Cater, Mark Gwalchmai and Paul Harper while Mark Henderson, Antony Daly and Sean Talbot all hit one. C’s Top Guns held on to pole position and maintained their unbeaten run making it three consecutive wins in group one of the South Birmingham Summer League when they beat bottom of the table C’s Flights 6-2. The win gives them a three point’s lead over second placed Mackadown Social who finished all square at 4-4 in their home tie with C’s Hot Shots. Iron Horse have played two and won two in group two, their latest 7-1 win at The Trident putting them two points ahead and with a game in hand on Punchbowl who lost the number one spot after losing 5-3 at home to C’s Arrows who moved one place off the foot of the division. Just the one game in group three which saw bottom team Yardley Arms remain without a point after losing for a second successive time 8-0, their victors on this occasion Marlborough Villains. The Sutton and District Summer League had their doubles knockout on the fixture card. A very encouraging 33 teams entered and taking the title with a very close 3-2 win in the final against A.Kimberley and B.Linnecor were M.Archer and W.Mynard. In the last four games Archer and Mynard beat T.O’Kereke and D.Vickers 2-0 and with the same result Kimberley and Linnecor defeated M.Wild and N.Smallwood. Sharmans Sharks continue to impress in the Shirley and District Monday Night League their latest fixture seeing them hand out a 9-0 whitewash to their hosts Plume of Feathers, Jason Jennings and Andy Foulkes hitting a maximum for the winners. Sharks now have a perfect score of 16 points from their eight games as do second in the table The Wharf whose 7-2 home win over Cider House saw the two teams swap places in the table, Wharf moving up to second place and Cider House dropping to third with 14 points from their nine games. Fourth in the table Red Lion are also on 14 points after their 6-3 win against Legion Flights, they have played one game less then Cider House. The two top teams in group ‘A’ of the Forest of Arden Summer League played each other in week ten, leaders Journeys End playing away to second placed New Inns. The result was an emphatic 8-1 win for Journeys to give them a maximum 20 points from their ten games and also put them six points to the good on New Inns who have played only nine games. The two bottom teams also played each other, next to bottom Highwood Arms beating bottom of the table and local rivals Highwood Exiles 5-4. In group ‘B’ two games were scheduled, however both Dunky’s Boys and C’s Shamrocks were awarded 5-0 wins as their respective opponents C’s Bullets and Chelmsley Town failed to turn up. There’s no change at the top of the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League as all of the top three teams won in week 17. Leaders Brickmakers Arms had a 7-2 home win over Hare and Hounds ‘B’ to keep them two points ahead of Ten Arches ‘A’ who beat their hosts Gate Hangs Well 9-0 to stay two points better off than their third placed ‘B’ side who won 7-2 against the Fox Inn (Lye). Garibaldi moved a little further away from the foot of the table as they chalked up their second win in seventeen beating Church Tavern 5-4. Its level pegging for the top two teams in the Camp Hill League, Sheldon Marlborough Flights and White Swan Nomads level on games played, average and points. Sheldon won 5-2 at home against Station Wagon and with a similar 5-2 result Nomads beat Emerald Club. The leading duo are two points ahead of both Journeys End Lions and Tyseley WMC, Journeys beating North Star 6-1 and Tyseley winning 5-2 at Wagon and Horses. The Silver End Sunday Morning League had their singles knockout on the agenda and winning through to the last sixteen were G.Churchill, J.Churchill, D.Brown, R.Tipper, A.Whyte, M.Watson, I.Davies, N.Bingham, J.Rollinson, C.Davies, S.Quarry, J.Pickett, M.Rowley, B.Davies, B.Lewis, L.Dawkins.
A 6-3 win over third in the league Wootton Bears keeps Studley Cricket Club in pole position in the Henley and District Summer League but only on average as Studley Conservative Club won 8-1 against Dorridge to keep them level on 22 points with the Cricket Club and with a game in hand. Village Inn moved off the bottom of the table to be replaced by Beausale who they beat 5-4, both teams have four points, Village having played 11 games to Beausale’s 12. White Horse continue to take the big scalps in the Netherton Thursday Night League as after wins over top of the table Riddins Tavern and second placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club they have added a 5-4 win over fourth in the table Bulls Head to their account. Riddins had a close 5-4 win away to third placed Townsend Social Club while the Ex Serviceman’s Club, with a game in hand, kept within three points of Riddins as they won 9-0 at Delph Bell. Bulls Head (Netherton) have had their lead at the top of the Brierley Hill Monday Night League cut to just two points after suffering a 5-4 defeat away to third in the table Dudley Sports ‘A’ who are six points behind them. Dudley Ex Serviceman’s ‘A’ are second in the table, their result at Bull and Bladder was also 5-4 but in their favour to put them on 46 points. Portway, Lamp Tavern and Rose and Crown had 5-4 wins over teams above them in the table, in turn beating Swan, Dudley Ex Serviceman’s ‘B’ and Mount Pleasant. Tipton Sports were the only losers in the top three teams in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League going down 4-3 at home to fourth in the table Island Inn. Third placed Waggon and Horses are on the same 48 points as Island Inn both teams just two points behind Tipton Sports. Waggon and Horses won 5-2 against the Ivy Bush. A 7-0 win over their ‘B’ team has put second placed Dewdrop ‘A’ level on 50 points with Tipton Sports trailing only on average. Rubery RBL’s fourth win in as many games in the Kings Norton League was a 6-1 success over Kings Heath to keep intact their two points advantage on second in the table Avenue Social who had a 7-0 win over E57, their third 7-0 win in as many games, a win of any description in their game in hand would see them take over at the top of the table. West Heath had a 6-1 win at home over Cock Inn to see them move up from sixth to third with six points, also on six points are Coppice, Dingle and Cock Inn. The Cradley Tuesday Night League played off their Shadow League Cup final and taking the honours with a 5-4 result over Gate Hangs Well was Netherton Cricket Club ‘A’.

The top two teams in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League Ashwood ‘A’ and Ashwood ‘B’ both handed out 7-0 whitewashes in week ten to respective opponents Gate Hangs Well, who are fourth in the league and Old Wagon and Horses, leaving the ‘A’ side top on 16 points and the ‘B’ second with 14. Swan in third place won 6-1 at Bell ‘A’ to give them 14 points and Gate Hangs Well also have 14 points. In the battle of the cricket clubs Wombourne Cricket Club lost their home tie with Netherton Cricket Club 4-3. Week eight of the West Midlands Men’s Super League produced a top of the table clash between leaders Allen’s Sports Bar ‘A’ and second placed Yeltz Bar. With both teams having won their opening seven games something just had to give and it was the away team Yeltz Bar who went down 3-2 in a very close match. Yeltz were first out of the blocks taking a 2-0 lead before the hosts bounced back with wins from Nick Fullwell and S.Baker before Dan Nicholls won the decider 4-0 against P.Wells. Allen’s Sports Bar ‘A’ now have a three points lead over newly second placed Woodside Inn who moved up one place in the table after their 4-1 win at Horse and Jockey. Coventry Bishopsgate have got their new season in the Warwickshire Me’s Supr Leagie off to a great start as theykicked off with a 5-3 wi at Birmingham Copper Fox and followed that with 8-0 wins over both Water Orton and Coventry Lime Tree.
A 4-2 win at Gilberts Bar has seen Riley’s ‘C’ take their unbeaten run in division one of the singles league in the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League to 19 games and has seen their hosts drop from secod to third in the table on 26 points, twelve short of Riley’s ‘C’ and two behind Sunbeam who have taken over the numer two spot after their 4-3 win over The Bull. Wednesfield Conservative Club made it two wins in 18 games when they beat Riley’s ‘A’, the team just above them in the table 5-2. Wednesfield Legion held on to their six points lead at the top of division two with a 6-1 win against fourth in the division Yale Club. Second placed Royal, Albrighton won 5-2 at Woodfield Social but are not only six points behind Wednesfield but have also played two games more than them.
