Second in the table Dean Bayliss had a somewhat shaky start to the night losing 3-0 to Lewis Bayliss but then recovering to win 3-0 against Matthew Cain to leave him eight points off the top on 82 points. The Shirley and District Monday Night League have completed two thirds of their season and week twenty saw Highwood lose their number one spot after going down 5-4 at home against Dunky’s Boys in what was a very close game. Both Highwood and Dunky’s are now level on 36 points with Highwood having two legs of average more than their rivals. Taking over in pole position is Red Lion, their 8-1 win at Saracens Jesters giving them the same 36 points as Highwood and Dunky’s but they are just one leg to the good on average over Highwood. With just one fixture remaining a 6-3 win for Royal Sutton Flights over third placed Golden Hind has made them favourites to take the division one title in the Four Oaks and District League as they are two points ahead of The Boat with a superior average. For The Boat to retain the title they have held for three years in their final fixture which is against Royal Sutton they have to win big to take the top prize. In the second division Red Lion’s 7-2 loss at The Fox leaves them top but they have completed their fixtures and second placed Pint Pot Flights are on the same 16 points with a final game against Plough and Arrows who are in the bottom half of the table. The last fixtures played in the Netherton Thursday Night League all finished with the same 7-2 scoreline, something you may think unique, not so as in match four every result was the same again, this time 5-4, however it was not a happy 5-4 for leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club as they actually lost 5-4 at White Horse, their first defeat of the season so far. The Cradley Tuesday Night League are up to week five and from a starting line-up of eleven teams only two remain unbeaten. The final should be a really close fought game between the league’s top two teams. Jordan Ward has taken over as leader of League One in the Yeltz Bar Tuesday Night Singles League ousting former leader Mark Adams after he beat him 4-1 to make it six consecutive wins and 27 points for Ward, three more than second and third Duane Hart and Matt Moore, Adams drops down to fourth place on 22 points. In league two Rob Smith has won all six of his fixtures and with 26 points has a lead of three over his nearest rival Tommy Johnson. Trevor Collier and Loz Slater have both won their six games in league three with the former top on 27 points and the latter second with 25.
