ADC GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

ADC GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

MODUS SUPER SERIES TO HOST INAUGURAL ADC GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) will stage a new landmark event in December 2024 in collaboration with the MODUS Super Series.

The inaugural ADC Global Championship will see 24 players compete for a share of a prize fund of over £85,000, with the first Global Champion set to pocket in excess of £25,000.

The event will take place over two weeks from Monday 9 to Sunday 22 December 2024 at the MODUS Live Lounge, Portsmouth, and will be live streamed on the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel.

The event will feature the top ranked ADC players from various ranking systems, including the top two players from the Women’s ADC (WADC) Tour.

The ADC’s top four players from the UK Ranking will be joined by the top four ranked UK Winmau Tour players. In addition, the number one ranked player from the Southern Europe, Belgium, East Europe, Netherlands, and Nordic rankings will be awarded places – along with the Benelux Open Champion.

Further spots will be filled via qualifying events from Oceania, South Africa, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, North UK, South UK and a World Seniors qualifier.

Scott Hunt, ADC Head of Global Operations, said: “This is an exciting new event for ADC players, who will get the opportunity to qualify for an end-of-year showpiece finale for amateur darts players.

“We have strong links with the MODUS Super Series and the collaboration with them for our Global Championships ensures live, top quality coverage for 24 players, who get the chance to battle it out over two weeks to reach the knockout phases.

“This is something new in darts and is a big opportunity for ADC members to showcase themselves and to earn over £25,000 in the process.”

The event will follow the format of the MODUS Super Series, with 12 players competing in Best of 7 Legs group games each week to reach Saturday’s weekly Finals Night.

Of the six players reaching each Finals Night, the four semi-finalists will advance to make-up an eight-player field for the Grand Finals on Sunday 22 December.

The Grand Finals will carry a prize fund of £55,000, with the winner claiming the £25,000 first prize in addition to prize money received from the qualifying weeks.

In addition, a £1,000 bonus prize is on offer for a nine-darter to be hit during the Grand Finals.

The quarterfinals will be played over the Best of 11 Legs, with the semi-finals being Best of 13 Legs, and the Grand Final over the best of 17 Legs.

Chris Murphy, Executive Producer, MODUS Super Series added: “This is the perfect way to bring the curtain down on a successful year for both the MODUS Super Series and the ADC.

“Both organisations pride themselves on providing opportunities for darts players outside of the exclusive 128 professional tour card holders.

“50 weeks a year, the MODUS Super Series showcases qualifiers from the ADC system – with many success stories.

“Now, for two of those weeks, these players will have their own special event and the final match of 2024 at the MODUS Live Lounge will see the first ever ADC Global Champion crowned. We are thrilled to be part of that landmark moment.”

Details of the qualifying events will be announced in due course.
