Alan Towe BICC Preview – 03/11/17

Derbyshire v Humberside Third from bottom of the table Derbyshire will play the second of their five home games in division three of the BDO Inter County Championships this coming weekend and their opponents will be third from top Humberside. After defeats in their opening two fixtures Derbyshire will be hoping to move away from the foot of the table but with their opponents already some fourteen points ahead of them the task will not be easy. Nevertheless Derbyshire need a win, not just to move them up the table but to also restore some of their confidence as it has now been seven games since their last victory a 23-13 win away to Berkshire on the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of January when playing in division two last season. Warwickshire v Cheshire This coming weekend Warwickshire County Darts Organisation are playing their third premier division fixture of the season in the BDO Inter County Championships and they will be hoping to follow up their win over local rivals West Midlands with a victory against Cheshire. Last season’s away fixture against Cheshire saw the local county win 19-17 and with a home draw at Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry, CV1 4JJ hopes are high for their second win in three games to lift them into the top half of the table.. Lining up for Warwickshire will be Men’s ‘A’:- Mark Westgarth, Jamie Hughes, Steve Hine, Antony Allen, Tom Aldridge, Anthony West, Nigel Heydon, Prakash Jiwa, Kyle Anderson, Noel Grant, Kevin Dowling, Dean Stewart, Men’s ‘B’:- Andrew Foulkes, Ian Shaw, Ashley Hykin, Carl Green, Charlie Symons, Mark Strong, Matt Edgar, Ian McFarlane, Tom Ryan, James Hykin, Mark Carter, Luke Kennedy, Reserves:- Simon Power, Ted Evetts, Tom McGlone, Simon Fairbrother, Graham Hall, Peter Hughes, Richard Foster, Kevin Painter, Women’s ‘A’:- Donna Pinch, Sue Gulliver, Natalie Gilbert, Melanie Jones, Chloe McKevitt, Caroline Pike, Women’s ‘B’:- Nina Bolt, Marian Conway, Angela Jones, Wendy Adams, Lisa Deslandes, Helen Rigg, Reserves:- Ann Rogers, Denise Keyte, Kat Spanswick.
Shropshire v Clwyd Shropshire will be taking on Clwyd at their new home venue for this season The Royal, Delaware Avenue, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3BW this coming weekend in what is the latest of their fixtures in division four of the BDO Inter County Championships. Unfortunately after the opening two fixtures with two defeats Shropshire’s current position in the league is where they finished last season which is next to bottom of the table with Isle of Wight once again the only team below them. Clwyd who narrowly missed out on promotion from division four last season ended their campaign in third place, they are currently in a mid table position and will not be an easy opponents, however Shropshire need a win and points to lift them away from the foot of the table and hopefully this will be the tie that sees them do just that.
