FUNDRAISING NIGHT SOLWAY LODGE GRETNA www.whitehackle.com
I recently did a fundraising night at The Solway Lodge, Gretna in Dumfriesshire for The Royal Highland Fusiliers 2nd Battalion,
The Royal Regiment of Scotland in support of their operational tour in Afghanistan.
Please support (Wrist Band Appeal) – the purpose is to raise money in order to provide support to their families, both during and after their tour of Afghanistan. All money raised goes directly to the appeal.
There was a fantastic turn out for the evening and the support for the appeal was tremendous.
Some of the Soldiers that attended the night joined me on the dartboard, they were a great bunch of guys and we had a lot of laughs. I have such great respect for them, so it was a privilege to be part of such a worthwhile cause.
A big thank you goes to Gail & Charlie Duncan, the owners of The Solway Lodge, for all their hard work in making the evening such a success, James Rowley for organising the evening and to everyone who came along, joined in the fun and gave willingly.
UK OPEN QUALIFIER BARNSLEY 26/27TH FEB 2011
Well I didn’t do any good on the Saturday in Barnsley.
I won my first game 6-2 against Ken Dobson and then Jamie Caven knocked me out 6-3 in the second.
Steve Brown was the eventual winner on the day beating Ian White 6-3 in the Final.
On the Sunday 144 players turned up at The Metrodome, for the second of The UK Open Qualifiers.
I beat Prakash Jiwa 6-1 in the first round, Martyn Turner 6-1 in the second and then lost to Simon Whitlock 6-2 in the third.
Simon was in tremendous form.
Michael Smith won the tournament, beating Dave Chisnall 6-5 in a very close Final.
I’m hoping for a better run in Wigan next month
