BICC Preview 30th/31st March

Hampshire v Warwickshire This coming weekend Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be looking to follow up their win over Glamorgan in their previous Premier Division fixture in the BDO Inter County Championships when they play at the Hill Park Memorial Working Men’s Club, 78 Highlands Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 6JD where they will take on the local Hampshire county side. Prior to the fixture Warwickshire are fourth in the table with 141 points and their hosts lie in sixth place with 124 points. Although Warwickshire are just one point adrift of third in the table Lincolnshire, overtaking them may be too much to ask as Lincolnshire have an away tie against bottom of the table Cheshire and on current form have the easier task. Nevertheless Warwickshire will be hoping to return with the points and selected to play in this their penultimate fixture are, Men’s ‘A’:- Steve Giddings, Kevin Dowling, Nigel Heydon, Steve Hine, Noel Grant, Antony Allen, Jamie Atkins, Ian McFarlane, Dean Stewart, Tom Aldridge, Ian Shaw, Charlie Symons, Men’s ‘B’:- Adam Paxton, James Hykin, David Hill, Tom Martin, Simon Fairbrother, Rob Comben, Mark Strong, Mark Carter, Gareth Braham, Karl Reynolds, Carl Green, Jack Wareing, Reserves:- Ted Evetts, Jamie Hughes, Tom McGlone, Richard Foster, Anthony West, Luke Kennedy, Women’s ‘A’:- Wendy Adams, Sue Gulliver, Angela Jones, Natalie Gilbert, Caroline Pike, Donna Pinch, Women’s ‘B’:- Nina Bolt, Lucy Keyte, Melanie Jones, Helen Rigg, Kat Spanswick, Marian Conway, Reserves:-Vicki Cross, Denise Keyte, Chloe McKivett.
Derbyshire v Buckinghamshire Two defeats in their recent three fixtures in division three of the BDO Inter County Championships has seen Derbyshire drop from a promotional chasing second position to fifth. Currently they are on 145 points and despite having only two more games to play are still in with an outside chance of promotion as the remaining fixtures are both against teams above them. Derbyshire will be playing a home tie with Buckinghamshire this coming weekend, their second placed visitors although three places above them are just nine points better off, and to conclude the season they will play away to third placed Cleveland who are just seven points ahead of them with 152 points, Cleveland have a tough away game against Merseyside this weekend a team that are just below them in fourth place and are only three points behind them, should be a very interesting last couple of fixtures to wind down the campaign. Isle of Wight v Shropshire A 19-17 win away to high riding Breconshire in division four of the BDO Inter County Championships could be just the confidence booster that Shropshire required to see them end the season with a winning run. This coming weekend they will be crossing the water to take on Isle of Wight at the Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Hillway Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight, PO35 5PL. Last season with one win and eight defeats Shropshire finished ninth in the ten team division, but this season have enjoyed better times with two wins and a draw from their opening seven games and a win against bottom of the division Isle of Wight is certainly on the cards which at the worst would consolidate their eighth position in the table as they are already ten points to the good on next to bottom West of England. Lining up for the penultimate fixture will be, Men’s ‘A’:- Reece Cook-Lucas, Derek Coulson, Justin Evans, Chris Fox, Rob Henderson, Brian Hickman, Chris Hill, Andy Jervis, Clive Lucking, Richard Parker, Martin Price, Chris Williams, Men’s ‘B’:- Martin East, Andy Gilbert, Luke Griffiths, Mike Hampson, Lee Hodgkiss, Jamie Lewis, Simon Pritchard, Neville Quinton, Martin Riggs, Andy Sandiford, Nathan Storar, Rob Trumper, Reserves:- Dan Rickwood, Women’s ‘A’:- Sophie Fawcett, Allison Gallagher, Sue Lane, Michele Pritchard, Marie Riggs, Deana Sheldon, Women’s ‘B’:- Jenna Ball, Suzie Barnham, Debbie Davies, Julie Griffiths, Rose Jenks, Caroline Powell, Reserves:- Kirsty Jenks, Crysta Wilcox.
