BICC Preview 30th/31st March
Derbyshire v Buckinghamshire Two defeats in their recent three fixtures in division three of the BDO Inter County Championships has seen Derbyshire drop from a promotional chasing second position to fifth. Currently they are on 145 points and despite having only two more games to play are still in with an outside chance of promotion as the remaining fixtures are both against teams above them. Derbyshire will be playing a home tie with Buckinghamshire this coming weekend, their second placed visitors although three places above them are just nine points better off, and to conclude the season they will play away to third placed Cleveland who are just seven points ahead of them with 152 points, Cleveland have a tough away game against Merseyside this weekend a team that are just below them in fourth place and are only three points behind them, should be a very interesting last couple of fixtures to wind down the campaign. Isle of Wight v Shropshire A 19-17 win away to high riding Breconshire in division four of the BDO Inter County Championships could be just the confidence booster that Shropshire required to see them end the season with a winning run. This coming weekend they will be crossing the water to take on Isle of Wight at the Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Hillway Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight, PO35 5PL. Last season with one win and eight defeats Shropshire finished ninth in the ten team division, but this season have enjoyed better times with two wins and a draw from their opening seven games and a win against bottom of the division Isle of Wight is certainly on the cards which at the worst would consolidate their eighth position in the table as they are already ten points to the good on next to bottom West of England.
