This coming weekend Warwickshire Darts Organisation will be playing their sixth of a scheduled eleven fixtures in the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League at the Hen Lane Social Club, Beacon Road, Coventry, CV6 4DS where they will take on Glamorgan. In their last outing away to London Warwickshire suffered a narrow 19-17 defeat and they will be hoping to quickly return to winning ways when they square-up to Glamorgan who are currently next to bottom of the premier table some 23 points short of their hosts who are placed fifth with 100 points.

In the L-Style Division One of the UKDA National League West Midlands, who are not enjoying the best of season’s so far and are currently next to bottom of the table on 81 points but with a game in hand on all the teams above them. They will have no easy task this coming weekend when they play hosts to top of the table Derbyshire who are on 124 points and have a lead of seven over second placed Suffolk.

Despite their lowly position a win for the West Midlands could well move them up the table and away from the relegation zone as they are only ten points behind fourth in the division Leicestershire.

Black Country are riding high in the UKDA’s National League’s division two, top of the table with 121 points and have an eighteen points lead over second placed West of England. This weekend they will travel to the Arnold and District Victory Club, Church Drive East, Daybrook, Nottingham, NG5 6JS where they will take on fourth in the table Nottinghamshire who are some twenty points behind them.

Smethwick Cricket Club were on the wrong side of a 5-4 result when they played away against fifth in the league Copper Fox ‘R’ in the Harborne and District League, the defeat has seen them drop from third in the table to fourth and leaves them trailing leaders Bugle Horn by six points, Copper Fox ‘R’ remain in fifth place. Bugle Horn impressed adding a 9-0 win at Cock Inn to their account to put them on 32 points and giving them a four point’s advantage over their nearest rivals Northfield Conservative Club who also handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their hosts Weoley Castle WMC.

Copper Fox held on to their six point’s lead at the top of the Kings Norton League when they won 6-1 at home against sixth placed Bourneville. Second and third in the table Bournebrook and Thurlestone both kept within those six points when Bournebrook won 5-2 away to fourth in the league Northfield and Thurlestone won 6-1 at home against Grant Arms. At the other end of the table the bottom two teams Kings Heath and Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club squared up to each other. With home advantage the Ex Serviceman’s won 4-3 to open up a four point’s gap between them and their opponents.

In the Four Oaks and District League the Old Horns Lions played away against division one leaders Nomad Flights, they won the first five games to inflict the only loss the Nomads have had in the eight games they have played this season, the final score 5-4 to Old Horns Lions. Second in the division Old Oscott Arrows defeated Red Lion 6-3 in a match that produced a fantastic thirty-two tons or over, the win seeing Old Oscott reduce the arrears on Nomad Flights to just two points.

In the second division leaders Oscott Social Club and second placed Minworth Flights both had comfortable wins with Oscott Social winning 8-1 at Sutton Sharks and Minworth winning 6-3 at home against Rosey Mac’s. Both of the top two teams are on fourteen points with Minworth having played one game fewer than Oscott Social.

It was a high scoring week this week with no less than six maximums recorded, they were supplied by P.Locke, J.Collins, C.Hill, M.Wild, L.Dells and H.Sadler.

It was top versus bottom in division one of the Shirley and District Monday Night League as bottom of the division Magpies entertained leaders Dunky’s Boys. The result was a 7-2 win for Dunky’s to take their unbeaten run to six games and keep them two points to the good on both Tippets Bar and Sharmans Swords. Tippets won their home game with Vikings 5-4, they have played one game more than the leaders while Swords won 6-3 at home against Cider House.

In division two, leaders Wharf lost for the first time in six games when they went down 5-4 in their home tie with third in the division Highwood. Despite the defeat Wharf hold on to pole position and their two points lead over second placed Saracens Misfits as they also lost 5-4 in their home fixture with Sharmans Cross.

Having completed half of their fixtures in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League, leaders Sheldon Marlborough Arrows remain undefeated as they added their seventh win of the season when they won 7-2 at home against Kingshurst Labour Club who are next to bottom of the division. Langley Arrows are second and two points short of the leaders after they won 6-3 at Sheldon Dukes whose Jake Savage notched a maximum with another Jake, this time Jake Webster emulating the feat for Langley Arrows.

In division one leaders Langley Flights had a somewhat surprisingly narrow 5-4 home victory over Hornet who are bottom of the division. Nevertheless the win opens up a two points lead for Langley as second placed Yardley Ex Colts had a bye and third placed Dingle lost 6-3 at Shirley Misfits.

Brian’s Flights made it eight wins from nine games in division two, their 7-2 home success over Lyndon Old Boys keeping them four points ahead of Iron Horse Rebels and Hampton and Solihull Cricket Club.

A 6-1 win at Ten Arches not only keeps Cross (Oldswinford) on track for the league title in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League but also stretched their undefeated run to fourteen games. Despite their fine run Cross only have a slender two points lead on second in the table Old Liberal Club who went one better when they handed their hosts Crestwood a 7-0 clean-sweep. Third and fourth in the league Netherton Conservative Club and The Princess are both on 22 points, four behind the Liberal Club after the Conservative Club won 7-0 at Mount Pleasant and Princess won 4-3 at Bird in hand.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ won what could well turn out to be a Netherton Thursday Night League title decider when in their twelfth game of the season they won 6-3 playing away against their nearest rivals Netherton Sports and Social Club ‘A’. The Ex Serviceman’s ‘A’ have played one game more than their hosts and only have a two points lead but in addition have a huge average advantage which could prove to be the deciding factor at the end of the campaign.

The Rowley Monday Night League have got their new season underway and the early pacesetters are Clock (Whiteheath) and Whiteheath Tavern who in turn won 8-1 against newcomers Huntingtree and Spring Meadow. Reigning champions Bell are not far behind as they kicked-off their season with a 7-2 win at Romsley Cricket Club. White Swan were also 7-2 winners playing at home against another new team to the league Rowley Bar and Grill.

The Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League began their new season with the first round of their Black Country Windscreens Trophy which saw Vine ‘A’ win 6-1 at Roost, Allens Bar ‘A’ win 5-2 at Sow and Pigs and Tamebridge get the better of their hosts with a close 4-3 verdict.

It was week three of the John Walters Cup and Trophy in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League. In the cup, with a 7-2 win over Five Ways, Gornal Labour Club made it three wins in as many games and top the table with a perfect score of six points. New Inn and Five Ways are both two points adrift of the leaders, New Inn winning their home tie with Jolly Crispin 6-3.

Pensnett Liberal Club lead the way in the John Walters Trophy but they only have a slender average lead over Red Cow, both teams having won all of their three games. In the latest fixtures the Liberal Club won 5-4 at home against Meadow Lark and Red Cow won by the same margin at The Cabin.

Week eight in the Ashwood Premier League saw John Green play two fixtures in which he beat Shane Passey 5-2 and Craig Lowin 7-0 but his two winning games were not enough to see him hold on to pole position as he dropped to second place on 95 points two short of new leader Nick Fullwell after both have now played sixteen games. On the night Fullwell played three fixtures he started the evening with a 7-0 win over Jake Robinson then won 5-2 against Gavin Smith before ending the night with a 6-1 success over Mark Jones. Third placed Josh Pickett is only six points behind Green but he has played one game more than both of the two players above him and on the night beat Jon Underhill 7-0 and Cayden Smith 4-3.

Although Yeltz Bar won 3-2 against Whiteheath Tavern in game twenty-eight of the Black Country Men’s Super League they dropped one place in the table to fourth on 136 points just one short of their local rivals Yeltz Bar ‘A’ whose 5-0 over Rowley Bar and Grill moved them up one place to third. Leaders Allens Bar ‘A’ also won 5-0 in a home tie with The Ashwood to take them up to 168 points and giving them a lead of twenty-two points over Railway Tavern in second place after they had a close 3-2 home win over Allens Bar ‘C’.

There were big wins for all three divisional leaders in the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League as division one leader Phil Clarke beat bottom of the division Martin Angell 6-2, Tony Singh, leader of division two also won 6-2 in his game against Ben Smith and Michele Pritchard won her game with Helen Sims 7-1 in division three.

Phil Clarke has a lead of three points over second placed Ben Johnson in division one, Johnson on the night winning his game with Jon Blakemore 6-2 while in the second division Tony Singh has a huge seven points advantage over his nearest rival Clark Cook who beat Jason Hough 5-3. Michele Pritchard has played one game more than the majority of players in division three but has won all four and has a twelve points lead over second in the division Jamie Aplin who handed his opponent Artur Lubkowski an 8-0 whitewash.
