Darts: Double Widnes & District glory for Bowling Club pair Bowles and Magee

TEX Bowles & Alan Magee followed up their victory in Widnes & District Darts League’s William Saxon Cup by also landing the Cheshire Roof Trusses 501 Pairs title.

The WBC colleagues defeated Joe Price & Scott Grady.

In the Mill Brow GP President’s Pairs final, new doubles team Darren Grant (RAOB) and Jason Haddock made short work of a straight-legs victory over Halton Stadium’s John Bowles & Alan Clark.

Also played on Friday at RAOB was the Corpy Cup final in which Simms Cross Institute romped to victory over St Michael’s.

The ‘Stute’ immediately settled into the game to take the opener through Ged & Danny McPartland. Further wins from Mick Simmonds & John Leacy, Andy Abbott & Carl Bryan and Glen Owen & John Bennett ensured there was no way back for the Mike’s. John Davies & Derrick Johnson averted a whitewash for a 4-1 final scoreline.

Widnes & District Darts League thank Karalius Bros for their generous sponsorship over the last 11 years.

"It is with regret that in the current climate we are losing a valued partnership and wish them well for the future," said a league spokeswoman.

The league’s presentation night is tomorrow at Stobart Stadium Halton. Doops open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
