Kevin Lane completed his fixture card in the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League with 7-0 wins over Rob Montana and Matt Barnfather to clinch the title and the top prize of £300. Lane finished the season with a total of 205 points just six more than runner up Kevin Harris who received £250 for his efforts and third placed Mick O’Neill who had 187 points collected £200. Prize money was paid out down to the very last player.
The league which is played at the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Sports Arena, Racecourse Road, WV6 0QU will be getting underway again shortly anyone interested in joining or requiring any further information should contact the centre on 01902-420827.

A close 5-4 home win over Mackadown Social has kept the 100% win record for Crown at Olton intact in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League and also maintains their number one spot with 8 points. Saltley Amateur Gardeners have moved up into second place with a similar 5-4 win over Castle Vale Residents but they have played one game more than Olton. The only other unbeaten team in the division are third placed Crown at Shard End who are on six points from three games, their latest result late coming in and not included.
Just one undefeated team in division one Iron Horse whose 5-4 win away to Holy Souls keeps them two points ahead of the rest of the field.
Crown Arrows lead the way in division two their latest fixture at Highwood Arrows seeing them win 7-2 and giving them a perfect score of 10 points. Second placed Small Heath Amateur Gardeners lost ground as they went down 6-3 away to third in the table Maggies both teams and Ridgemere Social are all four points behind Crown Arrows, Small Heath having played one game more than their two rivals.

Pint Pot Flights won 7-2 against Boldmere Sports and Social and Old Oscott WMC 6-3 against Plough and Arrows to record their first wins of the season in division one of the Four Oaks and District League. The Beehive and Boldmere St Mike’s took their unbeaten run to three games the former winning 6-3 against Golden Hind to keep them in pole position on average from St Mike’s who won their tie at Red Lion 7-2.
In the second division The Boot picked up their first points against a depleted Fox team, narrowly winning 5-4 while Erdington Arrows needed the final game to secure their 5-4 win against Brookvale Social. Boldmere Tap beat pointless The Park 9-0, Park winning just three legs. Making it three wins in as many games Golden Hind Arrows won 5-4 against The Lions and remain in pole position with six points two more than the only other undefeated team in the division Bishop Vesey who had a bye and now have a game in hand on the leaders.
R.Hawker (Boldmere St Mike’s) recorded the only 180 of the week.

No Change at the top of the Shirley and District Monday Night League as the top three teams all won in week 15. Leaders Highwood with a 180 from Terry Constable had a comfortable 8-1 win at Sharmans Cross to give them 28 points and lead second placed Crown Jewels on average after their close 5-4 win at Solihull Sports Club, Bob Nixon hitting two maximums for Solihull.
Third in the table Red Lion won 8-1 away to Baldwin Bears but remain six points behind the leading duo.

Week two in the South Birmingham League and joint leaders of division one Erdington Members Club made it two wins in a row with a 6-3 win at third in the table St John’s. Mackadown Social are the other joint leaders a similar 6-3 win against The Family Tree putting them level on points and average with Erdington.
In division two The Dog added a 5-4 win over Smithswood Social to their opening win to keep them top of the table second place is shared by The Bell and Kingfisher the former winning 5-4 at The C’s while Kingfisher lost the number one spot when for the first time in three games they went down 6-3 at home to Toby Jug, this being Toby Jug’s first win in two games.

Journeys End opened up the smallest of leads at the top of division one in the Forest of Arden Winter League when they beat bottom of the table Greville Arrows 7-2 the win giving them a slender one point of average advantage over Olton Crown in second place as they won 6-3 against third placed Sheldon Marlborough Arrows.
Chelmsley Town lead the way in division two their 6-3 win at Ivy Leaf making it four points from the opening two games and a lead of two over both Highwood KB and Sheldon Marlborough Flights who have both only played one game, and in turn this week they won 6-3 against Greville Arms and Highwood Exiles.

The Cradley Tuesday Night League staged the finals of their Harry Siviter and Wally Fellows memorial cups, in the former Brickmakers Arms after trailing 4-2 to White Horse went on to clinch a dramatic 5-4 win. The Wally Fellows final was all square at three each after the opening six games but Plough and Harrow then took control and went on to beat Bulls Head 6-3.

Dudley Sports ‘C’ moved closer to lifting the silverware in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League when they added a 6-3 win over Tenth Lock to their tally to give them 64 points from 36 games. Second placed Bridge ‘B’ suffered a setback to their title aspirations when they lost 5-4 away to sixth in the table Dog and Lamppost ‘A’ who are 14 points behind them. With games now quickly running out the defeat could well have cost Bridge ‘B’ any chance they had of taking the title away from Dudley Sports ‘C’.

The Coppice were the only losers in the top seven teams in the Kings Norton League their 5-2 defeat at Stirchley United seeing them drop one place to eighth and their hosts hang on to sixth place.
Court Oak remain eight points ahead of their rivals at the top of the table with 30 points their 6-1 home win over Billesley stretching their unbeaten run to fifteen games.

The Harborne League had their League Cup on the fixture card and the biggest winners of the round were Bartley Green who handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Sportsman. Not far behind were Abbey who won their home game with Avenue Social 8-1. League leaders Court Oak with a maximum from T.Hykin won 5-4 at Avenue Flights this being Avenue’s first defeat of the season so far. Other teams to win through to the next round were Hillyfields ‘B’ and Smethwick Labour Club.

Erdington Club suffered a massive 8-1 home defeat at the hands of the league leaders Kingstanding Ex Serviceman’s Club in the Aston League the defeat seeing them lose second place to Sportsmans Rest who after their 6-3 win over Red Lion have the same six points as Erdington but a better average. Both Sportmans and Erdington are two points off the top as Kingstanding’s win maintained their unbeaten run taking it to four games.

With two of the top three not playing this week in the Shirley Red Lion Premier League there has been a couple of changes in the table, Tom Bent has taken over pole position from Simon Edwards, Bent following up a 3-1 win over Mark Cater with a 3-0 success against Chris John to give him a total of 48 points just one more than second placed Paul Higgins who added two 3-0 wins over Mick Gorst and Brian Lawton to his tally. Third placed Steve Sidwell is on the same 47 points as Higgins and like Higgins had two 3-0 wins over his opponents Stuart Dixon and Mark Cater and with a game in hand on both of the players above him he could take over the number one spot with a win in that game.

Ashwood in second place gained a vital 5-4 win over their hosts Ten Arches ‘A’ who as a result drop three places in the table to sixth. Making up the top trio is Britannia their third consecutive win was a convincing 8-1 at Stourbridge RBL.
At the other end of the table The Swan chalked up their first win in five a 5-4 success away to Quarry Bank Conservative Club who drop from eighth to eleventh in the table, Swan move up two places from the bottom above Cat Inn (Wordsley) and Shrubbery Cottage.

The Camp Hill League staged their doubles knockout and in addition to Peter Yardley and Mark Hogan (The Lions) winning the event league treasurer Terry Burton also made the headlines as after some ten years break from playing he teamed up with Mark Standley (Wagon and Horses) and won through to the final where they eventually made their exit to Yardley and Hogan.

The Pip Club League played off some of their cup finals and taking the division one cup title with a final win over Prince of Wales was Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth)   The division one Belgrave Shadow Cup final was won by Birchmoor Club with Tamworth Motor Spares runners up. The division two final saw Progressive Club defeat Pip Club in the final.

Just two games were played in the Halesowen Monday Night Ladies League both of them with 4-3 results, second in the table White Horse lost to Black Horse and The Widders beat Townsend. In the Captains Cup Black Horse were surprising losers to White Horse as they were second in the table and the victors next to bottom.

There were 7-7 draws for the top two teams in the Black Country Premier League this week, Britannia Bulldogs who lead on average were held to a draw in their home tie with Old Hill Royals who are eighth in the table with 13 points.
