In the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships Warwickshire consolidated their fourth position in the table with a fantastic 21-15 home win over second in the table Lancashire.
Saturday gave the home side just the start they would have wished for with the ladies winning 4-2 and the men chalking up a superb 9-3 win, taking the respective match awards were Nina Bolt (20.04) and Rob Hawker who had a tremendous average of 30.36.
Sunday was also a good day for the ladies as the ‘A’ team romped to a 5-1 win with Trina Gulliver (23.12) taking her fourth consecutive award of the season. It was not such good news for the men’s ‘A’ side as they finished on the wrong side of a 9-3 result but their three winners were enough to give the overall verdict to Warwickshire. Dean Stewart was the ‘A’ team’s top player with an average of 28.63.

Saltley Amateur Gardeners suffered a blow to their premier division title hopes in the Sheldon and District Winter League when they lost their home tie with fourth placed The Lyndon 5-4. The defeat leaves Saltley two points behind leaders Crown at Shard End and having played one game more. Shard End’s latest fixture saw them win 6-3 at home against middle of the table The Pirates. At the other end of the table East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association moved away from the bottom as they recorded only their third win in twelve when they beat Castle Vale Residents 5-4, taking over at the foot of the table is Sheldon Dukes after their 7-2 loss at home against The Pavilions.
In division one leaders Solihull Moors maintained their push for honours with a massive 8-1 away win over Holy Souls who are third in the table and now two points adrift of Solihull.
Second played third in division two and it was third placed Shirley RBL Misfits who got the 5-4 verdict over their visitors Maggies, Maggies remain in second place on the same 16 points as leaders Crown Arrows but have played three games more than the top side, Misfits are now two adrift of Maggies but are on the same 14 points as Highwood Arrows who have only played nine games compared to Misfits eleven.

It was cup week in the Four Oaks and District League and in the second round of the Brian Goodman Cup both of the top two division one teams Boldmere St Mikes and The Beehive cruised into the semi-finals, Boldmere beating Old Oscott Arrows 6-3 and Beehive winning 8-1 against Golden Hind Arrows who have won all nine games so far in division two. Joining Boldmere and Beehive in the last four will be Pint Pot Flights who won 6-3 at Old Oscott WMC and The Lions who had a much closer 5-4 win against Golden Hind.
In round two of the Ken Rust Cup Bishop Vesey beat Red Lion 5-4 in a last game decider. Boldmere Tap outscored their opponents Erdington Arrows but lost 6-3, while The Boot and The Fox both had comfortable wins to get to the semi finals, Boot winning 8-1 against The Park and Fox taking out Boldmere Sports and Social with a 6-2 result.
D.Fowler (Golden Hind), M.Kenny (Erdington Arrows) and A.Nicholls (Boldmere Tap) all hit a maximum.

The Untouchables have had their lead at the top of the Winmau Centre Monday Night League cut to 19 points after losing 29-19 to their nearest rivals What Are Thooose, the match contained no fewer than nine maximums, three for Owen Busby and one for Aaron Fellows of the Untouchables and for What Are Thoose Owen Maiden hit an unbelievable FIVE 180’s.
Third placed Misfits are a further eight points behind What Are Thoose on 537 points after their convincing 37-11 win against Here For The Beer, again treble twenties were at a high with four for Misfits Sam Guest hitting three and Matt Hallet one, there was also one from Martin Wellsbury (Here For The Beer).

For the South Birmingham League it was cup week and in the second round of their Knockout Cup division two leaders Banbury Flights lost 5-4 to their rivals third in the table The Gate. Division one leaders Erdington Members Club had a convincing 7-2 win over Family Tree who are next to bottom of division two. In the all division one clash between third placed The Raven and fourth St John’s there was another close 5-4 result which went in favour of Raven, the game Mackadown Social and The Kingfisher saw Mackadown run out 9-0 winners.
In round one of the Jimmy Walker Cup The Bell who are next to bottom of division two beat their fellow division two opponents Smithswood Social who are fourth in the table 6-3 and the other fixture saw Coleshill Social (div 1) win 5-4 against The Dog (div 2).

It was semi final week for the Forest of Arden Winter League as they played of the last four games of their Divisional Cups. In the division one games the top two teams played each other, leaders Olton Crown beating second in the table Journeys End by a very close 5-4. Bottom of the table Greville Arrows chalked up a 6-3 win over Crown Arrows who are two places above them in the table.
There were no surprises in the division two games as divisional leaders Highwood KB won 5-4 against third placed Ivy Leaf and second in the table Sheldon Marlborough Flights had a 7-2 win over bottom of the table Highwood Exiles.

Kevin Harris added another two wins to his tally in the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League his 6-1 win over Ken West followed by a 4-3 win against Liam Baker giving him a total of 62 points from twelve games. Late starter Mick Baker is beginning to catch up on his outstanding fixtures his latest two games saw him beat fourth placed Mick O’Neill 6-1 and third in the table Simon Meredith 5-2 to give him 52 points and leave him with three games in hand on Harris and only ten points adrift.
In addition to their losses against Baker it was not a good week for either Meredith or O’Neill as both p[layers also lost to Ken West, Meredith 4-3 and O’Neill 7-0, it was however a good week for Liam Baker his 4-3 win against Chris Fox was his first win in eight games.

Sports Bar ‘180’ suffered their first defeat of the campaign in division one of the Pip Club League, their massive 8-1 defeat by their visitors Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) also lost them second place in the table to their victors. Leaders Prince of Wales stormed ahead with a 9-0 win at Wigginton Arms to give them an unbeaten five games and a two point’s lead over both Bulls Head and Sports Bar.
Globe Trotters suffered their first loss in four in division two and drop one place to third after a 14-4 defeat at the hands of Globe (Tamworth) who lead the table with eight points two more than both Trotters and Progressive Club who had a bye this week.
Royal Oak registered their first win in five, a 16-2 win away to Bulls Head ‘B’ (Polesworth) lifting them one place off the foot of the table and being replaced by their opponents.

Kings Norton League leaders Court Oak who have won all of their 22 fixtures in the league won the first of a scheduled two games in the Section Cup 13-8 against third in the table Stirchley United, Kings Norton RBL and Toby Jug ‘A’ were also 13-8 winners in their respective games against West Heath and Hillyfields. Biggest win of the round went to Billesley who chalked up a 17-4 scoreline over Toby Jug Flights. The top three teams in the Harborne League all won in week ten, leaders Court Oak making it ten straight wins with a 5-4 home success over Hillyfields ‘B’ to keep intact their two points advantage over Hillyfields ‘A’ in second place as they won 9-0 at Avenue Social. Two points behind Hillyfields ‘A’ on 16 points is Crazy Horses who were 6-3 winners against fourth placed Avenue Flights, the only losers in the top four teams.

The Shirley and District Monday Night League are up to week two in their new season and the early pacesetters are last season’s champions and runners up Crown Jewels and Highwood who have both won their opening two games and are also level on average. Third in the table Legion Royals are the only other team with two wins in their first two games but they trail slightly behind the leading duo on average.
Five players found the three treble twenties in week two, they were Chris John (Shirley Red Lion), Craig Clarke (Solihull Sports Club, Mark Brown (Cider House), Gavin Brown (Legion Royals) and Jason Jennings (Crown Jewels).

Alan Moreton (Bird ‘A’, Stourbridge) produced a six darts game in his team’s 8-1 win over New Inns in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League. Moreton kicked off with a 160 break and followed that with a 141 outshot for a perfect game of 301 darts.
On the league front Ashwood despite winning 7-2 against Crestwood lost their joint top position with Britannia as their rivals won their tie with Bird (Wordsley) 8-1 to go clear at the top by one leg of average and as there were wins for the top six teams that was the only positional change at the top end of the table. The top five teams Britannia, Ashwood, Brickmakers Arms, Bird ‘A’ (Stourbridge) and Ten Arches ‘A’ are all on 26 points, sixth placed Ten Arches ‘B’ are on 20 points.

Week two of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League and The Vine have ousted Dewdrop from their number one spot by just one leg of average, Dewdrop won 5-2 against Island Inn while The Vine were 6-1 winners at Jolly Collier. Dewdrop now share second place with Merry-Go-Round who were the week’s biggest winners as they handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their visitors Horsley Tavern.

The Netherton Thursday Night League played off their singles knockout and taking the title with a final straight 2-0 win over Fairfield’s T.Johnson was Phil Tonks from Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club.
Both semi finals went to a deciding third leg Tonks beating fellow Ex Serviceman player D.Brown and Johnson winning against A.Dimmock from the Bulls Head.

The second leg of the second round of the Brierley Hill Friday Night League’s League Cup saw overall wins for Pensnett Welfare Club, The Bell, Netherton Cricket Club and Pensnett Liberal Club, Netherton Cricket Club were the only team to reverse the first leg result as they trailed 5-4 to Brickmakers Arms but fought back to win the second leg 7-2.

The knockout staged at the Dudley Sports Club, Brierley Hill saw Matt Tedstone walk away with the £150 top prize after he beat Liam Kelly in a close 5-4 final, Kelly as runner up receiving £80.
In the last four play off Tedstone had a narrow 4-3 win against West Midlands player Shaun Carroll while Kelly had a more straightforward 4-2 victory, each of the losing semi finalists picked up £50.

Riley’s, Wolverhampton played off the first of their scheduled two qualifiers for the UK Open and with two players going through Warwickshire county player Dean Stewart made it a seventh consecutive time when he beat Mike McFall 5-1 in his final. In division two Whitmore Reans WMC lead the way with 58 points two more than Roebuck, the latest fixtures saw Whitmore win 5-2 at home to Emerald while Roebuck had a much nervier 4-3 home win over Ukrainian Club.

There were 4-1 wins for the top two teams in the West Midlands Men’s Super League, Crown ‘A’ are top with 59 points after their home win over Bridgtown Social, second in the table Landywood ‘A’ won away to Wednesfield FC to give them 55 points. Third placed Greets Green were involved in a surprisingly close game at ECC as their hosts are next to bottom of the table, without a win in ten games, nevertheless the 4-3 win was enough to keep Greets Green in third place with 54 points.
