Crown at Shard End lost any outside chance of winning the premier division title in the Sheldon and District Winter League when in their penultimate fixture of the season they lost 6-3 away to third in the table The Lyndon, no such problem for leaders Crown at Olton as they clinched the title with a 7-2 home win over Castle Vale Residents, Bob Nixon having breaks of 160 and 120 for Olton.
Kris Green was in superb form for The Pirates as he checked out on a maximum 170 and chalked up a seven darts leg despite his team losing 5-4 at home to The Pavillions.
With a four points lead Solihull Moors appear to have the division one title sewn up but the battle is still on for the runners up spot as Highwood KB’s won 7-2 at George V and Iron Horse had an 8-1 success away to Marston Green Tavern to leave both teams on 28 points, Highwood having the marginally better average.
Crown Arrows are at the top of division two with 32 points their nearest rival being Highwood Arrows who are six points adrift.

The Sheldon Marlborough Cricket Club have got their Singles League underway which in its inaugural season has attracted a superb total of 30 players split into three divisions of ten. Paul Brown and Sean O’Donnell are the early pacesetters in the Premiership division, both players having won their first two games.
In the Championship division its Pete Jones and Ken Salsbury who lead the way again both players had two wins in their first two games.
In division one Dave Brown is the outright leader after he won his opening games against Ian Genge and Alan Wale 2-0, Brown is closely followed by Steve McCarthy and John Young who have both dropped just one leg. As a result of his straight 2-0 wins Dave Brown is also the leader in the Overall table.

Highwood took their unbeaten run to 14 games in the Shirley and District Monday Night League with a 9-0 win over bottom of the table Shirley Spartac. The win keeps Highwood two points clear of second in the table Shirley Red Lion who won their home game against Legion Royals 7-2.
Reigning champions Crown Jewels are a further two points behind in third place, their latest win being 8-1 against Solihull Sports Club.

The new season for the Shirley Red Lion Premier League has attracted no fewer than twenty one players and heading the table after the first week’s games is none other than reigning champion Mick Gorst who had 3-0 wins over Mark Cater and Stuart Dixon, however at the moment Gorst has to share the top spot with Chris Thomas who also had straight win against Lee Harris and Julian Harris. Other players to have won both of their opening games were Mick Bown and Steve Sidwell.

After their opening four games Kevin Harris and Les Marson share the number one spot with 22 points in the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League, Harris adding his 6-1 win over Craig Capewell and 5-2 success against Simon Meredith to his tally whereas Marson recovered from his 4-3 defeat by Louis Burley to win 7-0 against Rhys Langford.
Rob Pierce is hot on the heels of the leading duo his 6-1 and 4-3 wins against Mark Bayliss and Simon Meredith giving him a total of 21 points, however not to be dismissed is the current reigning champion Mick Baker who in fourth place has only played three games and has won all three to give him 19 points.

The Forest of Arden Summer League has got its new season underway and setting the pace in the two divisions is Journeys End. In division one Journeys End were 5-3 winners at Highwood KB to lead the division while in the second division it was Journeys End Flights with a 6-2 home win over Riley’s Resurrected who top the table.

West Midlands player Nick Fullwell was the man to walk away with the top prize of £140 in the Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club Open Knockout as he beat Joe Sharratt 5-1 in the final, Sharratt receiving £70.
Both players were in fine form throughout Fullwell beating G.Davies to reach the last sixteen where he won 3-1 against Rob Pierce, he then faced fellow county player Ian Jones in the quarter finals and again won 3-1, his semi final was the closest game he had as he was taken to a deciding leg before winning 4-3 against Richard Hosey.
Sharratt won his last sixteen game against Mike Musto 3-0, he then beat Wayne Willis 3-1 and with a 4-1 success against Ashley Hykin booked his final place against Fullwell. The losing semi finalists each picked up £30.
The club‘s next knockout is to be staged on the 30th May.

The Camp Hill League had semi finals on their fixture card first the League Cup in which Hay Mills Lions beat Devil’s Club and Grange Social Club won against New Inns.
The Consolation Cup last four play-off saw Wagon and Horses and Station Bar in turn account for Cotterills Lane Club and Holy Gulp both surprising results as Cotterills are top of the league table unbeaten in nine games and Holy Gulp second while their victors Station Bar lie next to bottom.

Week seven saw the top three teams win in the Small Heath League, leaders East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association had an impressive 8-1 result against Cob’s Bar to take their winning run to seven games and give them a four points lead over both Gulp Tribe and Mitre, Gulp were also 8-1 winners at Emerald Club while Mitre won their game away to Wagon and Horses 6-3.

A 6-3 home win over Netherton Cricket Club was not enough for Brickmakers Arms to hold on to pole position in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League as Miners (Wollescote) beat their hosts Pensnett Liberal Club 8-1 to lift them into the number one spot leading Brickmakers by just one leg of average, however Brickmakers who are level on 30 points with Miners do have a game in hand on them.

Played fourteen games and the difference between Samson and Lion and The Bridge in the Pensnett and Bromley Tuesday Night League is just two legs of average. A 5-2 win against next to bottom Pensnett Liberal Club keeps Samson and Lion top of the table while The Bridge in their home tie with Moor Centre Snooker Club were held to a close 4-3 result, both teams have 26 points.
Dudley Sports are in third place and they won 4-3 at home against Pensnett Welfare Club ‘A’ who are placed fourth, respectively they have 20 and 18 points.

Darlaston Conservative Club were the sole losers in the top six teams in the Bilston and District League going down 5-2 at Allens Sports Bar ‘B’, Darlaston being replaced in sixth place by the victors.
With the majority of teams having five games to play The Nutan moved another step nearer to the title with a 5-2 win against Great Western giving them 60 points eight more than second placed Lanesfield RBL who were 6-1 winners at Malones.
Tilted Barrel with a 6-2 home win over Triangle Snooker Club are chasing Darlaston for the runners up spot and although two points behind them have a far superior average.

Crown (Station Road) are the biggest threat to the leaders, their second placed consolidated with a 6-3 win at Netherton Sports and Social.

Brickmakers Arms had a bye in week six of the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League and as a result dropped from second to fifth in the table. The top two teams Ashwood ‘A’ and Miners Welfare Club took their unbeaten runs to six games, Ashwood beating Ten Arches ‘B’ 5-2 and Miners having a 4-3 win at Ten Arches ‘A’ to leave just one leg of average separating the two teams as they are both on 12 points.
Ashwood ‘B’, Gornal Conservative Club and Brickmakers are all on 10 points, the latter having a game in hand on all four teams above them.

The Pip Club League have played off their doubles knockout and clinching the title with a final win over Andy Smith and Darren Massey (Winning Post) were Mark Martin and Mick Smith from the Prince of Wales.

Week 22 in the West Midlands Men’s Super League and Crown ‘A’ continue to impress as they took their undefeated run to 21 games with a 4-1 win over Allens Sports Bar putting them a massive 29 points ahead of second placed Staffordshire Knot who were close 3-2 winners against Rowley Bar and Grill. Third placed Landywood ‘A’ won 4-1 away to ECC to give them 101 points the same number as Staffordshire Knot, they have two games in hand on both of the two teams above them.

Riley’s ‘A’ have lost pole position in division two of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League following their 5-2 home defeat by table toppers Dog and Partridge who take over the top spot by virtue of their two legs better average as both teams are now on 10 points, this was Riley’s first loss of the campaign.
In division one another Riley’s team this time the ‘C’ team are top of the table, their 5-2 win at Victoria giving them a four points advantage over both Gilberts Bar and Roebuck who both won 4-3 in turn against Bradmore ‘A’ and Wednesfield Conservative Club.

Riley’s have the top two places in the Tettenhall Wednesday Night League the ‘B’ side top with 22 points after they inflicted a first defeat on Cleveland Arms with a 5-2 result, but Cleveland have only played nine fixtures and wins in those outstanding four games would see them take over at the top of the table. Riley’s ‘A’ in second place handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their visitors Dog and Partridge while third placed Whitmore Reans WMC were 6-1 winners at Jones Road to give them the same 20 points as Riley’s ‘A’ with a game in hand.

With five fixtures remaining in the Tamworth League for the top two team’s leaders Prince of Wales ‘A’ did their cause a power of good with a 7-0 win over Progressive Club in the process doubling their lead over Fox and Dogs to two points as they were 6-1 winners at Dolphin Inn. Third placed Prince of Wales ‘B’ with 132 points are eight behind their ‘A’ side with a game in hand.

All the big scores in the Halesowen Friday Night Singles League were provided by group ‘B’ players, M.Hoult and T.Johnson both hitting two maximums, Hoult also recording a 114 checkout, O.Tate went one better with a maximum finish of 170. Despite losing 5-2 to M.Hoult D.McConomy still holds on to pole position with 61 points from 11 games, T.Johnson moves up into second place with 54 points from 10 games and Hoult takes over the third spot with 48 points from nine games.
