Hooray!! Darts in our area is once again slowly but surely beginning to take off once again following a dreadful sixteen months of stagnation due to the pandemic.

The newly formed Black Country Darts Association – UKDA Men’s Super League has kicked off its season and the early pacesetters are Allens Bar ‘C’ and High Acres ‘A’ who both chalked up straight 5-0 wins over respective opponents Horse and Jockey and Three Diamonds to give them both a perfect seven points start to the campaign.

Third placed Yeltz Bar ‘A’ are just one point behind the leading duo, their six points coming as a result of their 4-1 win away to Allens Bar ‘A’.

The Camp Hill League have also begun their new season and leading the way with a crushing 7-0 win over Peaky Blinder are Roost Rebels whose victory sees them top the table by just one leg of average over newcomers Moseley Arms who recorded a 6-1 home win over New Inn Lions.

Sheldon Marlborough and Tyseley Newbies were both 5-2 winners, Sheldon beating Sedgemere Devils while the Newbies accounted for their local rivals Tyseley WMC.

The game between Aston Inn Nomads and Meadway Social was postponed due to holidays.

The Royal, Albrighton are once again up and running with their very popular knockouts and the latest saw an encouraging 34 entries with no fewer than 24 top county players and 2 internationals.

The last four games saw Dudley’s Chris Fox, who had taken out Ian Jones in the previous round, take on Willenhall’s Ben Johnson and win 5-1.

From the other half of the draw Shane Sheridan (Birmingham) won 5-2 against Cannock’s Mark Craddock.

Playing the best of eleven legs the final went down to the wire with Shane Sheridan just edging out Chris Foc 6-5 to clinch the top prize of £200 with Fox receiving £100, losing semi-finalists Ben Johnson and Mark Craddock each collected £35.
