Darts News - Hendry Heads For Pro-am Finals

Ferrybridge^s Colin Hendry claimed the second, of eight avaliable places, for the York Darts Promotions YDP Pro-am Grand Finals being played in October at Huntington WMC in York.

Hendry, who is a regular at YDP events, which are organised in Association with Streamline Taxis of York and Red Dragon Darts won Knockout 2 held at The Greyhound in Riccall with 180 for 19 and 20 dart legs in beating Terry Copley (Sherburn in Elmett) (21) 2-1 in the final. Hendry had earlier gone out in 15 darts whilst ton plus checkouts were recorded by Copley 122 bull finish and a 147 outshot for Johnathan Crossland (Cawood) in a 15 dart game.

The Semi-finals saw, the only lady entrant, Jane Flynn (York) lose out 2-0 to Hendry whilst Crossland lost 2-1 to Copley.

The 1/4 Final results were Mathew Lancaster (Barlby) 0 Flynn 2, Simon Rimington (Barlby) 0 Hendry 2, Chris Grant (Cawood) 0 Copley 2 and Simon Jones (York) 0 Crossland 2.

Knockout 3 is next Wednesday 19th June at The Greyhound Pub in Bridlington, which is the only qualifying knockout for this event, being held on the East Coast. Entry fee is just £3 with registration closing at 7.45pm.

Tickets for the Grand Finals, where BDO Professionals Stephen Bunting, Darryl Fitton, James Wilson, Tony O^Shea, Gary Robson, Martin Atkins, Robbie Green and Glen Durrant will be partnering the eight qualifiers, will be on sale at the Bridlington venue on the night at The Greyhound qualifier.
