Adam was quick into it with a victory over Trevor Tye 4-1 in round two after Trevor himself had beaten Patrick Finney in the 1st round. Adam then threw very well to see off Russ Simmons 4-2 in legs in round 3 with Russ himself having a brace of wins earlier against Steve Naisbit and John Smethurst before Adam was then victorious against Chris Markham in the semi final. Chris' path had been forged by a 1st round win over Owen Cubitt including a 128 out. He then beat Lee Wolfe before victory 4-1 against Lester 'Big Red' Bowers in the last 8 to set up the semi final. Bob's path to meet Adam in the final had Mick Hulley in his path with a maximum and a 114 checkout Bob went through. He had a win over Sam Fordham 4-1 after Sam had seen off Ben Dulley. Bob Pinder then produced a masterclass of tungsten with legs of 13, 14, 12 including 2 x 180s to beat Lee Cushworth in the semis with Lee hitting a 15 himself and Lee had recorded wins over Paul Brittle and Greg Beard to find himself in the semi finals. Adam Warner took the chances when they arrived in the finals and held throw very well in the final after leading 1-0 to then go 2-1 down and lead 3-2 before edging home 4-3 with 3 legs under 20 darts. He really is starting to make a name for himself on the local darts scene and he looks to have the potential to go even further. Bob had 13 & 14 dart leg in the final but just couldn't shake off Adam, as we have seen the Hellraiser will be back and still has plenty more win left in him. With the next round on the 29th of April the competition is hotting up.   [caption id="attachment_19359" align="aligncenter" width="1440"]Adam Warner, Owen Cubitt, Bob Pinder Adam Warner(left) Owen Cubitt & Bob Pinder(right)[/caption] Steel City Tournament Points: 11 ADAM WARNER 10 GREG BEARD 9 MARC ELLIS 9 STEVE MARFLEET 8 LESTER BOWERS 6 BEN DULLEY 6 CHRIS MARKHAM 5 PAUL BRITTLE 5 BOB PINDER 5 PAT MEESON 4 PETE BELL 4 MICK HULLEY 4 LEE CUSHWORTH 3 ANTONIO CRUZ 3 RUSS SIMONS 3 OWEN CUBITT 3 SAM FORDHAM 2 RICH JOHNSON 2 MATT PRYOR 2 STEVE EWINGTON 2 JOHN LIEBER 2 PAT FINNEY 2 LAURA TAYLOR 2 BRAD CLOWERY 2 PAUL HARRIS 2 RYAN GOFFIN 2 STEVE NAISBIT 2 TREVOR TYE 2 LEE WOLFE 1 ANNE LOFT HOUSE 1 GREG BATTING 1 CHRIS KEANE 1 JOHN EDWARDS 1 JON SMETHURST 1 TRACEY BELL 1 BEN CHIVERS 1 DAZ BLUER

Cushworth win Cosmo World series Qualifier 2

It was the darting demon that lifted the Cosmo Fit Flights World Series qualifier today in Sheffield at Rileys and making his way to the finals in November.
Lee was a winner of his opening group game over the very consistent Bob Pinder and that wouldn't be the only time both would meet. After seeing off Steve Naisbit and another good win he would top group 3 with maximum points and with Bob winning all his remaining games would follow Lee into the next round. Lee then would take a fine win 4-0 over Brad Clowery, hitting legs of 14, 16 & 18. Lee would then see off Tom Briggs in a very good semi-final before beating Bob Pinder in the final. Group 1 was topped by Adam Warner who made his way through with Martin Sommerton and in group B Chris Lacey and Brad Clowery advanced. with group 4 Tom Briggs topping the group. and been joined by the other semi finalist James Thomas and those two met again for the 3rd place battle which was won by James Thomas so a very fine performance by all four player. The plate was won by Trevor Tye from Chesterfield and Steve Naisbit also battled through to the plate final.
Lee Cushworth now joins Trevor Burkhill in the Cosmo world Series finals in November and the order of merit is as follows
ORDER OF MERIT 28 BOB PINDER - 2 21 MARTIN SOMMERTN- 2 20 TREVOR TYE - 2 18 JOHN SMETHURST - 2 18 JAKE RHODES - 2 17 CARL WILKINSON - 1 15 ROGER REID - 1 15 JAMES THOMAS - 1 13 STEVE RUMBLE - 1 13 TOM BRIGGS - 1 11 DANNY HALL - 1 11 GREG BEARD - 1 11 CHRIS LACEY - 1 11 ADAM WARNER - 1 11 BRAD CLOWERY - 1 11 STEVE MARFLEET - 1 11 CHRIUS BURD - 1 10 STEVE NAISBIT - 1 9 OWEN CUBITT - 1 9 BEN CHIVERS - 1 9 ANNE LOFTHOUSE - 1 9 TOM WRIGHT - 1 9 STEVE HATTERSLY- 1 9 KIERAN POTTS - 1
