PHIL TAYLOR completed a third PDC Pro Tour ^double^ of 2009 with victory in the Blue Square UK Open South-East Regional Final.

Taylor, who has already won both weekend events in Gibraltar and Germany this year, followed up Saturday^s Players Championship victory with another imperious display.

He had some nervy moments before coming from behind to win his second round game with Colin Monk, and saw off Steve Hine, Barrie Bates and Colin Osborne to reach the semi-finals.

In the last four, he ended Michael van Gerwen^s best PDC Pro Tour run for 12 months with a clinical 6-1 win before seeing off Jenkins 6-4 in the decider.

Jenkins had chances to defeat Taylor during Saturday^s Players Championship, and also pushed the Stoke star all the way in the final.

Taylortook out 164 in the game^s opening leg and led 3-1 before Jenkins levelled.

The next two legs were shared before Taylor hit scores of 180 and 177 in a 12-darter to lead 5-4, and he sealed victory in the next with another 12-dart finish.

Jenkins, a Players Championship winner in Doncaster in January, punished two missed match darts from Mark Dudbridge to edge their semi-final, and also overcame Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts rival Mervyn King for the second time this week.

He also defeated Robbie Parker in the quarter-finals, with the Newcastle-based player ensuring his place in the UK Open Televised Finals in June with his best PDC Pro Tour display, defeating Mick McGowan, Adrian Gray and Wayne Mardle on the day.

Dennis Priestley continued his good run of form by reaching the last eight, and Co Stompe followed up a semi-final appearance on Saturday with a run to the quarters, where he lost to fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.

Anastasia Dobromyslova^s progression in the PDC ranks saw her claim the notable scalp of former World Champion Steve Beaton in round one, before losing to Jason Clark.

However, her fellow PDC newcomers, Gary Anderson and Mark Webster, both fell in the first round, losing to Mervyn King and Mark Frost respectively.

PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP - SATURDAY

PHIL TAYLOR defeated Ronnie Baxter 6-2 in the final of the Brentwood Players Championship, on Saturday.

Taylor who won the title twelve months ago, has now won seven titles in 2009, including five on the PDC Pro Tour.

Taylor

had overcome the challenge of Terry Jenkins in a final-leg decider and Mark Walsh in the semi-finals 6-2.

He established a 2-0 lead early on in the final, and that soon increased to 4-0, aided by a maximum in both the third and fourth legs.

Baxter hit a maximum of his own to reduce the deficit to 4-1, before Taylor took to the brink of victory by converting a 100 checkout.

Baxter kept his hopes alive with a 70 finish, but Taylor wrapped up victory in the eighth leg by landing double four, to claim the £6,000 first prize cheque.

Baxter had defeated Steve Hine, Alan Tabern and Dutchman Co Stompe on his way to the final. But he found the fourteen-time world champion to much of an obstacle to overcome.

Mark Walsh continued his good form, defeating Robert Thornton and Steve Beaton by 6-1 scorelines on his way to the semi-finals.

James Wade, who is currently top of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League, fell at the last 16 stage to former world champion Steve Beaton.
