The top women players will also be adding to the excitement, with 8 times Lakeside Women’s World Professional Champion TRINA GULLIVER and local lady DETA HEDMAN (the current British and World Women’s No.1) who lives in nearby Witham, leading the way. They will be joined by Russian No.1 IRINA ARMSTRONG and Wales No.1 JULIE GORE and other outstanding women players.

To complete a top weekend of hugely competitive BDO darts, the Great Britain Finals of the 2010 BDO British Teenage Championship and the BDO British Inter-County Youth KO Cup (won on 8 previous occasions by Essex Youth) will both be played in the same venue on Sunday, July 25th.

“We are delighted to be coming to Towerlands Park for the first time”, says BDO Chief Executive Olly Croft, OBE. “It is a fantastic venue which offers us lots of space all on one level, and a variety of facilities to accommodate the rising numbers of players and fans for this great weekend of BDO darts.”

The 2010 Winmau BDO British Classic Men’s & Women’s Singles will be played on Saturday, July 24th and the Men’s Singles Champion will collect a cheque for £3,000 (a £1,000 increase) plus trophy.

The Women’s Singles Champion will collect a cheque for £500, plus trophy.

Non-playing spectators will be welcome at Towerlands Park over the weekend for an admission fee of £7 per person on Saturday, and £5 per person on Sunday, payable at the door.
