Dawson^s Double Delight

Yorkshire^s Brian Dawson kept his one hundred percent record as he made it two out of two in the 4th Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championship held at Huntington WMC in York which attracted 101 entries, the highest for a York Darts Promotions event.

Dawson recorded 3 x 17 dart legs plus adding a bull-25 and bull finish for 15 and 130 finish for 15 darts in his emphatic 5-1 final victory over York^s John Quantock (16). Quantock (2 x 180^s in 15-20-20-17) showed his quality in beating Aarron Holdstock (Humberside) 4-1 in the first semi-final of the Red Dragon Darts sponsored event with Dawson defeating York^s Paul Cooper 4-2 in the other semi.

Trevor Day^s excellent run was ended by Dawson (15-180 for 16 and 19) 3-1 in the 1/4 Finals whilst Cooper beat Jamie Ellam (Humberside) 106 finish 3-1. Quantock (14) won 3-0 over Mark Hartley (York) and Holdstock^s 3-2 victory ended Chris Thompson hopes.

Further 180^s were hit by Trevor Holtby (3), Calvert, Peter Rushby and Corner two each and Robbie Likess, Mann, Dave Lord, Quantcock, Tommy Heron (Snr) and Holdstock one a piece.

Other ton plus checkouts were recorded by Hartley 156, Dawson 139, Holdstock 120, Thompson and Cooper 116, Jamie Planton 106 and Ellam 100.

Ranking Stage 3 is on Saturday 1st March at Huntington WMC in York, registration closes at 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

York Darts Promotions take a trip to the East Coast for a weekend of darts at The Blue Bell Hotel, Burton Agnes on Sat/Sun 8th/9th March as Stages 3 and 4 of the Blue Bell Hotel Darts Championship take place. The event boasts a total prize fund of £5,510. These are the last two qualifying stages for this event with stage prize money paid out to the last 8 plus highest checkout and fastest leg prize. The semi-finalists qualify for the Grand Finals on 19th April where the overall winner recieves £1,500.
