RUSSIA
^S Anastasia Dobromyslova has been confirmed as the latest qualifier for the 2008 PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts next month in Wolverhampton.Dobromyslova won the BDO Women^s World Championship title in January 2008, defeating Trina Gulliver in the final.
The 24-year-old Russian competed in the Blue Square UK Open as a pub qualifier, losing narrowly to Robert Thornton in the first round at Bolton.
She is now the 29th player to be confirmed for next month^s Grand Slam of Darts, after Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld - who have already qualified for the tournament - reached the Sky Poker World Grand Prix final last weekend.
Places in the Grand Slam of Darts are still available for the European Championship finalists and the winner of the internet-streamed Championship League Darts, with the second, third and fourth placed players from Friday^s ITV Wildcard Qualifier going onto a reserve list.
"We^re delighted to be able to invite Anastasia to compete in the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"Her success in becoming the Women^s World Champion was hugely deserved and she is already looking forward to the challenge of lining up against other champions in this event.
"Anastasia^s appearance in the UK Open in June showed that she holds no fears about mixing it with the best in the men^s game at the highest level."
Dobromyslova will also take part in the PartyPoker.com Pro-Celebrity Challenge at the Wolverhampton Civic on Friday November 14 - pairing eight darts stars with eight celebrities for a knockout tournament televised live on ITV4.
