History for Wright as he tops £1m on Order of Merit

Peter Wright has made history as just the third player to top £1 million on the PDC Order of Merit.

The reigning World Champion broke the £1m barrier across two years of ranking events with his run to the semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals on Sunday.

Wright has now amassed £1,011,000 in ranking events in the past two years - although he remains £483,750 behind Michael van Gerwen's total of £1,494,750.

The Scot, though, joins Van Gerwen and Phil Taylor as the only three players to break the £1 million barrier since the PDC moved to an Order of Merit system in 2007.
