After a roller-coaster 2018 - Gerwyn Price is back and stronger than ever before as he gears up for a second bite at the Premier League cherry.
Price made his Premier League debut last year and openly admitted that he struggled to adapt to the gruelling 3 month schedule. Since then however, the Iceman has bounced back to reach his highest ever position on PDC ranking system.
Struggles in the Premier League affected his other results in the opening half of the season, before a run to the Austrian Darts Open final displayed signs of recovery. The Welshman was then tragically struck with a freak leg injury in June, sustained whilst running.
Price showed his famous grit and determination however, battling on through the injury, and continuing to play on the PDC professional circuit whilst wearing a protective boot.
This culminated in a full recovery by September and the Iceman was back in full flow. Price lifted his first European Tour title - PDC International Darts Open before earning the finest achievement of his career so far..
Price joined the esteemed list of PDC televised major winners when he won the 2018 Grand Slam of Darts, defeating Gary Anderson 16-13. This result moved Price into the World no. 6 spot and he now targets a strong Premier League campaign.
Price’s first opponent will be Daryl Gurney, as he takes to the stage in the Utilita Arena, Newcastle in the second game of the night.
Full coverage will be broadcast live on Sky Sports at 7pm in the UK and via the PDC's broadcast partners Worldwide.
