Jamie Lewis makes his Welsh Debut

The World most capped International player Martin Phillips will lead a Wales Men’s side, at this years’ BDO British International Championships to be held Bridlington on the weekend 10/11th April, with Wales rising star Jamie Lewis from Pembrokeshire making his Wales Debut.

Naturally I wish the whole side the very best of luck, especially my ld room mate Martyn who I owe a great deal to for his continued support over the years".

Phillips who will celebrate his 50th birthday on 30th April this year’ made his 100th appearance for his Country in the Celtic Cup last November, and has gone on to collect a total 105 caps to date following the Nations Cup, will have 18 year-old Winmau and World Cup Youth Champion Jamie Lewis as one of the newcomers under his leadership at the East Yorkshire venue.

The fourth change in the 13-man side is the recall of Glamorgan’s Tony Bradley, who has two previous Welsh appearances under his belt.

The Welsh Women’s side to defend the title they won on home soil at Merthyr 12 months ago, has no newcomers to International darts in their line-up, as Glamorgan’s Michelle Webber who was called in as replacement last year’ is included in the seven girls selected this time.
