Lisa Ashton Secures PDC World Championship Qualification

Reigning Lakeside Ladies World Champion Lisa Ashton secured her spot at Ally Pally this weekend after winning the UK & Ireland Women’s Qualifier in Milton Keynes. The four-time Ladies World Champion and current BDO Ladies number 1 smashed in a brilliant 132-checkout on the bull in the final to defeat Maria O’Brien 6-3. The Lancashire Rose enjoyed 4-0 wins in all of her opening five matches before defeating Rhian Griffiths 5-2 in the semi-finals. O’Brien herself impressed throughout, defeating top names in the Ladies game Fallon Sherrock and Deta Hedman on her journey to the final. Ashton now joins Anastasia Dobromyslova as the two PDC Women’s Qualifiers as part of the expanded 96-player field for the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship. The draw for the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship takes place at approx. 5:30pm today, live on Sky Sports News.
