Setanta televised BDO International Grand Prix Series
Exciting climax to the Setanta televised BDO International Grand Prix Series
THE 2008 BDO BRITISH OPEN MEN’S SINGLES
The Spa, Bridlington
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH
The 2008 BDO BRITISH OPEN MEN’S SINGLES will provide a truly exciting climax to the first ever BDO International Grand Prix Series when it is played at The Spa, Bridlington on Saturday, September 20th.
Televised live and exclusively on Setanta Sports from 7PM to 12.30AM, and played on the Winmau Blade III it is set to provide a mouth-watering finale to the series of five major BDO televised tournaments that began in May.
Two Scots, GARY ANDERSON and ROSS MONTGOMERY could be fighting it out for top spot, with England’s DAVY RICHARDSON still in with a chance of equalling Gary Anderson’s current 33 points total – depending on results!
First of all, those players have to win their way through to the Last 8 in the Men’s Singles. If they do, then a win for Gary Anderson will make him a clear winner on 48 points. But, if he isn’t in the points and Ross Montgomery wins, then Ross would take the title with 39 points.
However, if neither of them pick up any points and Davy Richardson emerges winner of the BDO British Open, then he would share top spot with Gary Anderson on 33 points.
In fact, there could be a three-way tie if Davy wins and Ross is runner-up. That would mean that Gary, Ross and Davy would all share a 33 points total!
There are a whole string of players with opportunities to share the £32,000 available prize money in the BDO International Grand Prix, including England’s SCOTT WAITES (15 points), and GARY ROBSON (Eng) and MARK WEBSTER (Wales) both on 9 points.
One thing’s for sure – it is impossible to predict a winner!
