Shepherds beat Fulfordgate in the John Smith’s Bulmers Men’s Darts League

Fulfordgate pushed second-placed Shepherds all the way in the John Smith’s Bulmers Men’s Darts League before going down 5-4.

Shaun Day (20), John Mooring (2 x 20), Tony Cooper (19) and a deciding game win by Mark Jones and Dave Gibbons secured the win.

This enabled St Paul’s to stretch their lead. Paul Botterill (180 for 19), Paul Dixon (19) and Chris Thompson (180 for 15) starred in an 8-1 win over New Inn.

Clifton closed in on second spot as Barry Noble (19, 20), Iain Smith (180), Neil Hart (180 for 16) and Andy Rennie (21) were on form in a 9-0 win over Flag.

Mark Hartley (19, 20), Keith Turner (180), Mark Mason (19) and Jack White (20) ensured Acomb kept the pressure on the front-runners with an 8-1 result over Brit.
