Timothy ^Teapot^ Jones leaves Bobby George dazzled

Bobby George has hailed People^s Champion Timothy ^Teapot^ Jones for pointing the way to fame on the X Factor of the oche.

Welshman Jones won the first John Smith^s People^s Darts, the hit national amateur tournament, at the Lakeside eight months ago.

And King of Darts George, twice a finalist at the world championship, was amazed by the quality. Bobby Dazzler, now the BBC^s arrows expert, believes the ^Teapot^ - nicknamed after his distinctive handle-andspout stance - has shown the way ahead for next year^s prospective winners.

George said: "John Smith^s People^s Darts is like the X Factor of the oche.

"But unlike some winners of the X Factor, your star won^t wane after five minutes of fame and you don^t need to fawn over Simon Cowell to win. Look at Tim Jones - he proved he wasn^t just a pub player who got lucky, he went to the BDO Torremolinos Open and reached the final.

"Now he^s off to the Winmau World Masters - and he wouldn^t be going if it wasn^t for People^s Darts.

"Somebody will follow in his footsteps. The beauty is it could be anybody, male or female, posh or poor, from any walk of life."
