Leaders of the Black Country Men’s Super League Allens Bar ‘C’ were held to a close 3-2 win by their hosts third in the table High Acres ‘A’. As a result they now have to share the number one spot with Yeltz Bar ‘A’ who had a more convincing 4-1 victory away to Allens Bar ‘A’. Allens ‘C’ and Yeltz ‘A’ are both on the same 19 points with exactly the same average, they have a lead of five points over joint third in the table High Acres ‘A’ and High Acres ‘B’. High Acres ‘B’ moved up from sixth place to join their ‘A’ side in third place after handing out a 5-0 whitewash to their hosts Three Diamonds who reside at the foot of the table, the only team in the league without a point so far.
Railway Tavern dropped one place in the table to fifth following their 3-2 defeat away to Allens Bar ‘A’, who with 12 points are just one behind their visiting opponents.

The Netherton Thursday Night League played off the second leg of the first round of their League Cup. Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club followed up their 6-3 win over Spring Meadow Social Club with a 5-4 result to move into the next round, while Old Hill Cricket Club had an overall 10-8 win over Netherton Conservative Club to progress to round two.
Bulls Head versus Townsend Social Club and Netherton Sports and Social versus Fairfield both went to a sudden death play-off, Mark Bayliss beating Phil O’Brien to see Townsend Social Club go through and Chris Jones booking Fairfield’s place with his win over Reece Hodgetts.

Following the recent Warwickshire AGM there was a reminder to all players that the qualifiers for the World Masters and World Championships via EDO/ WDF will take place on September 16th at the Hen Lane Club. There will be an 8.00pm roll call for all players with a £5 per player entry fee. A reminder also that this was an event in which there must be a minimum of four players from each team in attendance.
Discussions are taking place that will allow the Ladies to hold their event on the same night. This will be confirmed asap.
As of yet the qualifying regional event has not been finalised date-wise or venue. Again this will be announced asap.
It was virtually a repeat performance of week one in the second week of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League with the four winners from last week all winning again. The Vine with a 5-2 home success over Miners Arms top the table by one point of average over Dewdrop who had a closer 4-3 verdict in their fixture away to Albion. Third placed Horseley Tavern are a further one leg of average adrift but were the week’s biggest winners, a 6-1 home victory over newcomers and bottom of the table Tamebridge, while fourth in the league Waggon and Horses won 4-3 at Hayes Social to leave them two legs behind Horseley. All of the top four are on four points with the other four teams in the league yet to gain a point.

A 5-2 home win over Peaky Blinder takes Sheldon Marlborough to two wins in as many games in the Camp Hill League, they are the only team in the league to have won both games and lead the field with a perfect four points, two clear of the rest of the field. However, there are two other teams, Meadway Social and Aston Inn Nomads who are also undefeated but they have only played one game so far. Meadway kicked off their campaign with a convincing 5-2 win against Roost Rebels while Aston Inn Nomads had a close 4-3 verdict at Tyseley Newbies.
Sedgemere Devils lost 4-3 at Moseley Arms, they and Peaky Blinder are the only teams without a win after the opening two games.

The Netherton Tuesday Night League have got their season underway and what a start it was for Netherton Sports and Social Club as they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Wheatsheaf ‘B’ to see them top the table by two legs of average over both Bulls Head (Netherton), who with a 180 from Matt Hadley won 7-2 against The Plough and Wheatsheaf ‘A’ who won by the same scoreline against Quarry Bank Social.
Quarry Bank Liberal Club had a bye.

Week 19 of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night League saw Bailey Phipps drop out of the league and so adjustments had to be made to the table. As a result former leader Martin Price, despite a 7-1 win over Shaun Hartopp has dropped to second place on 132 points and taking over in pole position with a similar 7-1 win against Kris Jones is Steve Jones who is on 135 points. Alex Howells remains in third place, although he was held to a 4-4 draw by Neil Wild he has joined Martin Price on 132 points but he has played 18 games compared to Price who has played 17.

Gilbert’s Bar reign in the top two places of the West Midlands Men’s Super League lasted only for week one as in the second week’s games former leaders Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’, who opened their campaign with a 4-1 victory over Red Lion had the same finishing score this week but lost 4-1 to Kings Head, Kings Head moving up from third to pole position with 11 points.
Second placed Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’ also had their 3-2 result against Chuckery reversed in their second game, going down by the same scoreline away to Staffordshire Knot ‘A’ who with 10 points take over second place in the table.
After the top two it’s very close as no fewer than three teams share the number three spot, ECC, Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’ and Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ all on the same seven points with exactly the same average.
