ROSS SHOWS HE’S ‘THE BOSS’ AS 2008 WIMAU BDO BRITISH CLASSIC CHAMPION

Scotland’s ROSS MONTGOMERY lived up to his nickname of ‘The Boss’ with a convincing 4-0 victory over fellow countryman GARY ANDERSON in the Winmau BDO British Classic final at Kettering Conference Centre.

Shown live and exclusively on Setanta Sports, the Winmau BDO British Classic was the penultimate tournament in the BDO International Grand Prix Series, and sets up an exciting finale at the BDO British Open at The Spa, Bridlington on September 20th.

Gary Anderson is leading the Grand Prix table on 33 points with Ross Montgomery close behind on 24 points; Davy Richardson on 18 points; Scott Waites on 15 points and Winmau sponsored Mark Webster on 9 points with Gary Robson.

There was a record field of 580 players in the Men’s Singles, and as well as players from England, Scotland and Wales, there were also players from Russia, The Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.

Winmau’s TRINA GULLIVER displayed a welcome return to form with a satisfying 3-0 victory over her Dutch rival Francis Hoenselaar.
