Winmau Darts Centre at Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium by Alan Towe

What a fantastic finish to the Winmau Centre Monday Night League in the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium with the title being decided in the very last fixture of the season.
Going into the final game Misfits had a six points lead at the top of the table with What Are Thooose second. The final game saw Misfits win 32-16 against Barney Army while What Are Thoose chalked up a massive 42-6 win over Keep It In The Family to give them the title by just four points with Misfits finishing as runners up.
Last season’s champions The Untouchables rounded off their campaign with a 28-20 win against Here For The Beer to finish third with 641 points 53 adrift of the new champions.
The league’s new season got back underway again in March.

Another league at the Winmau Centre, the Thursday Night Champions League also looks as though it will go to the wire as at the time of going to print Mick Baker with 112 points and four games to play is leading the field, however Kevin Harris with a 6-1 win over Ken West followed by a 7-0 success against Liam Baker in his attest fixtures has drawn level on the same 112 points as Baker but has now played one game more.
It could well be that the title is not decided until the final game of the season when the leading pair will square up to each other, that should be quite an encounter as with a top prize of £300 on offer plus a twelve months sponsorship deal with Winmau both players have everything to play for.

A few more details regarding the fourth annual Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open to be staged at the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium in August, once again it will carry a top class prize fund of £3,000 with £1,000 going to the eventual winner together with entries into the 2016 Winmau World Masters and the 2017 Lakeside Play-Offs. There will be prize money paid out to the last sixteen players
Cost of entry into the event will be £10 with entries being accepted on the day. Once a date has been confirmed it will be announced in this column.
