A LOOK BACK IN TIME - 02.02.2005
No change at the top of the Forest of Arden Winter League as leaders Red Arrows continue to fly high after chalking up a convincing 8-1 win over Harvester. Arrows hit no fewer than sixteen scores of a ton or more to their opponents four. Mackadown Sports and Social who, are currently second in the table travelled to Farringdon Social and returned with a 6-3 win to keep the pressure on the leaders.
In the other game played this week there was a battle of the Greville’s as Greville Arrows took on their local rivals Greville Arms. It was a close game with the latter getting the 5-4 verdict.

Yenton Exiles maintained their two points advantage at the top of division one in the Four Oaks and District League when they beat Old Oscott WMC 6-3. Midland Red and Old Oscott Arrows remain two points off the top despite the Red’s winning 7-2 at Anvil Nomads and Arrows winning 6-3 at home to Sportsmans Rest. Pint Pot recorded their second win in nine games beating Hill Social 7-2.
Bromford Lions are in pole position in the second division, their latest victory being a 5-4 win over close rivals Barn Social. Barn Social are now two points adrift and level with the Leopard who had a 5-4 win at Boldmere Sports.
On the individual scene there were 160 breaks for I.Scattergood (Midland Red) and J.Hunter (Saints).

The Small Heath League were involved in the first round of their Divisional Cup this week. There were no major shocks as Bromford Social, Mitre and Custard House all recorded 5-4 wins over respective opponents McVeighs, Innisfree and Victoria Flights. In the other game played Victoria 301 Club won 6-3 against Gunmakers Arms.

The Dolphin got their campaign in division one of the Tamworth and District League off to a good start when they travelled to Red Lion ‘B’ and returned with a convincing 7-1 victory. Better fortunes for Red Lion ’A’ as they won 5-3 at the Queens. The other division game between the Globe and White Lion finished all square at four each.
Division two’s biggest winner was the Mercian, who had a 6-2 home success over the Three Horse Shoes, while Cue Sports and Kettlebrook both won 5-3 in turn against Royal Oak and the Boot. Hopwas and Gate Inn ended at 4-4.
