A LOOK BACK IN TIME - 03.11.2004
After completing three fixtures in the new Four Oaks and District League, Yenton Exiles and Old Oscott Arrows are the only two teams in division one with a 100% record. Yenton are top of the table by just one leg of average following their 7-2 win over Old Oscott WMC, while Old Oscott Arrows beat Sportsmans Rest 6-3. A.Stainfield (Yenton Exiles) hit a maximum and recorded a nine darts leg. Sportsmans Rest remain the only team without a win so far.
The only undefeated teams in the second division are Good Hope Flights, Barn Social and Bromford Lions, who have all won their first two fixtures. None of the three played this week, Good Hope Flights had a bye, while the other two teams had their match against each other cancelled.

Highwood lost their unbeaten record in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League this week when they went down 5-4 at Sheldon Dukes. Saltley Gardeners take over pole position, on average from Highwood, after winning 7-2 at Castle Vale Residents Association, T.White recording a 160 break for Saltley. Another player to have a 160 break and finish on the losing side was division one’s N.Harris (RAFA). RAFA were second in the table and took on third placed Shard End RBL. Shard End won 7-2 and have taken over the number one spot due to leaders Stechford Social losing 6-3 at Banbury Club. British Telecom Club moved off the bottom with their first win of the campaign, 6-3 against Harvester, Telecom have moved above Harvester.
It was a case of all the table toppers lost this week as in division two Shard End RBL Flights, despite a 180 from M.Topliss, suffered a shock 7-2 defeat at the Millhouse, who were second from bottom.
The league will be staging round one of their Punch Bowl tomorrow night (4/11/04), the draw is, Saltley Gardeners v Raven, Iron Horse v Glebe Community Centre, Stechford Social v Yardley Ex Service Colts, Pavilions v Castle Vale Residents Association, Sheldon Dukes v Hen and Chickens, British Telecom Club v Yardley Ex Service Flights, Harvester v Shard End RBL, Sheldon Social v Sheldon and Marlboro, Toby Jug v Shard End RBL Flights, Shard End Social v Fordbridge Social, Millhouse v Banbury Club, Old Bill and Bull v Victoria Social, Lea Hall Sports and Social v Sedgemere Flights. Three Horse Shoes, Highwood and Gunmakers Arms all have a bye.

Just one rearranged fixture played in the Small Heath League and that was between Gunmakers Arms and Custard House, the latter winning 7-2. The win puts Custard House level on points with Victoria 301 Club and within two points of leaders Station Hotel with only a couple of games remaining.

As the Tamworth Cue Sports season draws to an end they too have been playing off some outstanding fixtures. In division one Globe suffered their first defeat in 14, losing 5-3 at home to second placed Dolphin and in division two Mercian, with a 7-1 scoreline beat the Boot (Grendon).

Red Arrows consolidated their number one spot in the Forest of Arden Winter League with a 6-3 win at the Harvester, Alan Price notching a maximum for the leaders. Biggest winners of the week were Sheldon Heath Flights who accounted for Sheldon Ivy Leaf with a 7-2 result.. In the local derby between Greville Arms and Greville Arrows, the former got the close 5-4 verdict.
