A Look Back in Time 05.04.2006
Second placed Anvil Nomads lost ground in the race for the Four Oaks and District League title this week when they travelled to take on their nearest rivals, third in the table Good Hope Flights. The result was a 6-3 victory for Good Hope, which now puts them on the same 28 points as Anvil, both of them two points adrift of leaders Midland Red, who had a 6-3 home win over Rose and Crown. With three fixtures remaining the championship could still go to any of the top three teams, Kingstanding Ex Servicemen’s and Old Oscott WMC both won their games and are now four points behind the Red’s, but for either of them to win the league all of the teams above them would have to lose all of their matches.
