
A Look Back in Time 08.03.2006
After a faltering start to the season, Mark Birch, reigning champion of the Brook Meadow Individual League got back on track with a 2-1 win over Jason Evans followed by a 3-0 success against Andy Sheen. Only two players are able to boast a 100% record after the opening four fixtures, Carl Winters and Ian McFarlane. Winters had wins this week over Roy Parry and Terry Blakemore, while McFarlane accounted for Robbie Earl and Ricky Heaven. Winters hit two maximums against Blakemore who also hit a 180. Robbie earl was another player to hit two maximums as he beat Mark Elkin 2-1. Gordon Clinton hit 180 in his 2-1 victory over Ross Macken.

Biggest surprise in the Four Oaks and District League was the 5-4 win by Bromford Lions over Hill Social. With only two previous wins in fifteen outings Bromfords success lifted them off the foot of the table to leapfrog Boldmere Sports, who were defeated 8-1 by leaders Midland Red.
In the top half of the table clash between Old Oscott WMC and Kingstanding Ex Servicemen’s, the latter got the 5-4 verdict to go into fourth place, the former drop to fifth.
T.Tyrie (Hardy Spicer), P.Burgess (Old Oscott WMC) and S.Hawkes (Anvil Nomads) all hit 180’s.

The Small Heath League have been engaged in their mixed doubles knockout. Taking the honours were Gunmakers Arms pairing Sally Hudson and Neil Parsonage. The title came as a result of a final victory over Gloria Lightwood and John McCaffrey from Potcheen Still.
Losing semi-finalists were Ann Wall and Brendan Lysaght (Mitre) and Julie Gallagher and Trevor Frost, also from the Mitre.

The Tamworth Cue Sports League held their Open Cup Knockout. The event was split into two groups with the Globe winning group one and White Lion group two. The two winners then played each other for an overall winner which was White Lion.
