A Look Back in Time 01.03.2006
The new season got underway in the Brook Meadow Individual League and it began with something of a shock for reigning champion Mark Birch. In his curtain raiser Birch squared up to Ian McFarlane and although he out-tonned his opponent he still finished on the wrong side of a 2-1 result. Mark’s second fixture was against last seasons runner up and a former champion, Robbie Earl. Once again the scoreline was 2-1 and again it was Birch on the losing end.
Hitting maximums in the opening games were Jason Evans, Robbie Earl and newcomer Roy Parry.

With only a handful games remaining in the Small Heath League’s season the title is far from being decided. Bromford Bridge members Club ‘A’ are currently leading the field, but on the same 22 points is the Mitre, who are just six legs adrift of Bromford. Mitre’s latest 8-1 win at the Wagon and Horses doing their cause no harm at all.
In the league’s Cricket Knockout The Shafts Team, The Untouchables, Hair Bear Bunch and Daz’s Dead Eyes have all won through to the semi finals.

A 5-2 win over the Red Devils as seen The Who’s win the shadow league in the G.U.L.P. Charity League. At the
top of the table Barmy Army suffered a surprising 5-2 home defeat at the hands of the Tribe outfit. This now leaves the runners up spot depending on the outcome of the final game between the Tribe and the Tigers, which will settle not only the second place but also doubles league title and the singles and doubles averages.

A few issues have been decided in the Tamworth Cue Sports League. The division one shadow league knockout has been won by Two Gates Club after beating the Dolphin in the final. The division two title went to the Boot, with Glascote Club runners up.
The division two KO Cup final will be contested by Three Horse Shoes and Hopwas Club, who in turn took out Royal Oak and Boot in the last four.
