The Four Oaks and District League got their latest campaign underway, division one producing a couple of fascinating games. Hardy Spicer played hosts to Old Oscott WMC, a game that went to the very last leg of the final game before Hardy Spicer got the 5-4 verdict to seal the points. Midland Red opened up a 4-1 advantage in their home tie against Sportsmans Rest, but it was the visitors who finished the 5-4 winners. The encounter included two maximums, one for each team, B.Linnecor for the Red’s and J.Dunn for the Sportsmans Rest.

In the second division Red Lion Flights were the week’s biggest winners as they accounted for the Plough with a 7-2 result. Deers Leap won 6-3 at Bromford Lions, while Boldmere Sports just got the 5-4 edge on Barn Social.

Ian McFarlane has made a quick return to pole position in the Brook Meadow Individual League. The reasons for Ian’s return were twofold. Firstly Ian chalked up two wins, a cracking 3-0 victory over Mark Elkin in which he hit 2x180, 2x140,2x100, 119 and recorded a 14 darts leg. He then followed that with a 2-1 success over Simon Winters. Secondly, Mark Birch, who had taken over the number one spot until McFarlane had played his game in hand, lost his game against Ross Macken 2-1. Both players hit a maximum, but Macken also had 2x100, 103 finish and a 15 darts leg, to Mark’s 2x140, 123 and 100.
