Midland Red consolidated their position at the top of the Four Oaks and District League with a convincing 7-2 win over fourth in the table Old Oscott WMC. At the other end of the table Boldmere Sports chalked up their second victory of the campaign beating Rose and Crown 5-4, bur nevertheless Sports remain rooted to the foot of the table.
Second placed Good Hope Flights had a close 5-4 success against Old Oscott Arrows, as did Barn Social in their fixture with Hill Social, both matches going to the final leg of the very last game.

In division one of the Harborne and District 301 Winter League D.Bourne, with a 180 helped his side, Midland Red to a 6-3 win over Colwyn, E.Simpson (George) also hit a maximum in a 7-2 victory against Bartley Green F.C, but it was not such good news for New Inns man I.Tucker as his 180 did nothing to avoid an 8-1 reversal at Hillyfields.
In the second division Raven remain in pole position after a close 5-4 verdict over Cock Inn. Old Mill stay level on points with Raven, they also won 5-4 playing at home to Highlander.

The Brook Meadow Individual League have been staging their singles knockout. The highlight of the event was the semi-final encounter between Ian McFarlane and Robbie Earl. The match contained no fewer than twenty three figure scores, with McFarlane hitting 3x140,2x123,114,5x100 and a 121 finish to Earl’s 180,140 and 6x100. The 3-2 result went in McFarlane’s favour. He then went on to face Jason Evans in the final and won that tussle by 3-2 to lift the title.
League champion Mark Birch went out in the quarter finals, finishing on the wrong side of a surprising 3-0 scoreline to Jason Evans.

Queens Head ’A’ suffered a major shock in the final game of the season in division one of the Pip Club Tamworth League, losing 5-3 at home to Two Gates Club. However, they remain second in the table, Globe in pole position after a 5-3 home win over Cue Sports Club.
In division two Three Horse Shoes finish on 23 points as do Royal Oak, but the former having a much superior average. Shoes beat Glascote Club 6-2, while Oak won 7-1 against Boot Inn.
The first round of the division two divisional cup will be played tomorrow evening the draw being Park Inn v Boot Inn, Glascote Club v Hopwas Club, Mercian v Royal Oak, Three Horse Shoes v Queens Head ’B’.

The title hopes of Bromford Bridge Members Club ’A’ suffered a setback this week when they were beaten 6-3 by Victoria Flights. Nevertheless, they remain at the top of the league on 22 points with Mitre, who beat Victoria 301 Club 7-2, just two points behind.

The doubles knockout was on the agenda for the G.U.L.P. Charity League, with R.Macken and M.Cooper (Tigers) beating C.Stokes and P.Wilding 2-0 in the final. Amazingly every single game throughout the competition finished with a straight 2-0 result. The win ensured that the trophy stayed with the Tigers for the third consecutive season.

On a more sombre note, the South West Birmingham Clubs Winter League have lost one of their long serving players and committee members in Brenda Bullock, who recently passed away at the age of 67 following a short illness. In addition to the winter league Brenda was also treasurer of the summer league and had played in various other local league’s including the Warwickshire Super League.
For in excess of forty years Brenda had managed a team for Bournbrook and Selly Oak Social Club. She will be sadly missed by all her many friends, relations and team mates.
