Old Oscott Arrows made it four wins in as many games in division one of the Four Oaks and District League this week when they won 5-4 at home to Anvil Nomads. The only other remaining unbeaten team in division one is Yenton Exiles, whose game with Pint Pot was not played this week.

In division two three teams still have a 100% record, Barn Social, Bromford Lions and Good Hope Flights, all three teams have only played just three games with Good Hope Flights top of the table with a superior average.

The Sheldon and District Winter League have been engaged with the first round of their Punchbowl. Biggest win of the round went to Saltley Amateur Gardeners who handed out a 9-0 whitewash to the Raven. Toby Jug were not far behind with their 8-1 thrashing of Shard End RBL Flights. Other teams to progress into round two are, Fordbridge Social, Yardley EX Service Flights, Iron Horse, Lea Hall Sports and Social, Stechford Social, Sheldon Dukes, Castle Vale Residents Association, Banbury Club, Shard End RBL, Sheldon Social and Old Bill and Bull.

The Small Heath Summer League played off two of their outstanding fixtures this week, both of them producing shocks. League leaders Custard House took on middle of the table Ward End Ex Service Club and lost out by 5-4, while second placed Station Hotel, who also had a home tie, took on the Gunmakers Arms and suffered an unbelievable 9-0 defeat. Custard House remain in pole position on 20 points, but have completed their fixture card, Station Hotel are also on 20 points, well behind on average, but have a vital game in hand against third placed Victoria 301 Club currently on 18 points. Should Station Hotel win, they will take the title, however, should they lose, they will finish third behind Victoria 301 Club, should be quite a game.

In the league’s Mixed Doubles Knockout, Sally Hudson and Neil Parsonage from the Gunmakers Arms took the honours, beating Christine Brown and Darren Brown (Custard House) in the final.

The league recently took on the GULP Charity team and after trailing 7-2 after the first nine games pulled back to a respectable 19-13 final score. In the ladies game the result was a 4-4 draw.

The league have now decided to form their own charity team, more details on this as and when more information is received.

A final reminder that the South West Birmingham Clubs Summer League will be holding their annual presentation this coming Thursday, 18th November at Stirchley United WMC, Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley. The evening will get underway at 8-00pm and will include a four a side knockout.

----------------------------------

After the first nine fixtures in the Forest of Arden Winter League, the early leaders are Red Arrows, who have 16 points from a possible 18. A close second to Red Arrows is Mackadown Sports and Social on 14 points, then comes Sheldon Heath Flights and Harvester who both have 12 points, Harvester ahead by just one leg of average.
