A LOOK BACK IN TIME - 24.11.2004

Following an 18-18 draw in the capital last outing Warwickshire County Darts Organisation were looking for a quick return to winning ways in their latest away game against Essex in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championships.

Saturdays games did not get off to a very promising start as the ladies lost 4-2, Denise Burke and Betty Sinnett (18.18 lady of the match) won the last two games to make the result a little more respectable. The men’s ’B’ after trailing 5-3, then winning 6-3, finished all square at 6-6, with David Harris (24.64) their top player.

Sunday’s games were a different affair with the ladies winning 4-2 and the men winning 8-4. The respective award winners were Clare Bywaters (27.33) and Tom Aldridge (29.47). The final score was 20-16 to Warwickshire.

In Division One of the Four Oaks and District League there was a top of the table clash between Yenton Exiles and Old Oscott Arrows. Prior to the match neither team had lost, Yenton having played one game fewer than their rivals due to a fixture with Pint Pot being cancelled. The result was 6-3 in favour of Yenton putting them in pole position on average from both Old Oscott Arrows and Old Oscott WMC, who have lost one of their five fixtures.

Top of division two is Barn Social, who made it four wins in as many outings when they handed out Good Hope Flights first defeat, a close 5-4 verdict. Third placed Bromford Lions have only played three games so far and won all of them. A win in their outstanding fixture would see them take over at the top of the table.
