The George are the division one champions in the Harborne and District 301 Winter League. The title was dependant on the final game between Smethwick Labour Club and Midland Red in which the Red’s required a massive 9-0 victory to clinch the title on average over the George. The result was a win for Midland Red but only 5-4. Colwyn rounded off their programme with a 7-2 success at home to Quinton Members Club.
The division two title was even closer. Old Mill ended the season with a 5-4 win away to third in the table Raven. Raven finished with 20 points, two less than both Old Mill and Cock Inn, who were level on points and average. The title was decided on the fact that Cock Inn had won both of their clashes with Old Mill. How close was that?
