A Look Back In Time - 30.11.2005
Warwickshire will be back in action in the premier division of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships this coming weekend when they travel to the Hill Park Memorial WMC, Fareham to take on Hampshire. Following their win over Essex in the previous fixture hopes will be high that it was the start of a winning run.

The Sheldon and District Winter League will be staging the preliminary round of their league cup tomorrow night, the draw being, Castle Vale Residents Association v Brook Meadow, Mackadown Social v Sheldon Dukes, Saltley Amateur Gardeners v Sheldon Social (Premier Division), Raven v Iron Horse, Vaughans v Pavilions, Lea Hall Sports and Social v Shard End Social, RAFA v Glebe Farm CA (division One), Colwyn v Graduate, Willclare Sports and Social v Kingshurst Labour Club, Gunmakers Arms v Shard End RBL Flights, Millhouse v Gables Tavern (Division Two).

It’s all change again at the top of the Brook Meadow Individual League as last week’s leader Jason Evans went down 3-0 to Keith Kelly and drops to second place. Meanwhile, reigning champion Mark Birch beat Mark Elkin 3-0 and has taken over pole position on 25 points, two more than Evans.

The Harborne and District 301 Winter League has got underway and kicking off the campaign with a resounding 9-0 victory is Hillyfields. Playing at home Hillyfields defeated Quinton Members Club, despite a 160 break from M.Tonks. Four of the other six matches finished with 7-2 scorelines, the winners being Colwyn, Pheasant, Raven and the George.
Quickest game of the week was provided by S.Groves of the New Inns. Groves checked out in nine darts as his side lost 7-2 at the George.

The Four Oaks and District League have been busy with not only their league fixtures but also their Coronation and Norman Day Cup’s. In the league there was two top of the table clashes. Leaders Good Hope Flights took on fourth placed Old Oscott WMC suffered a surprising 6-3 defeat and dropped to second spot behind Midland Red who beat Kingstanding Ex Servicemen’s. Kingstanding go down from third to fifth. Bromford Lions move out of the bottom following a 5-4 win against Barn Social.
In the second round of the Coronation Cup Anvil Nomads and Old Oscott Arrows both won 10-5 against respective opponents Old Oscott WMC and Barn Social. The first round of the Ken Rust Cup saw Good Hope Flights and Bromford Lions go into the hat for round two at the expense of Hill Social and Boldmere Sports.

In the G.U.L.P. Charity League Tigers had their home run of 23 consecutive wins ended when the Barmy Army beat them 4-3. Tigers fought back from 3-1 down to level the match only for the Barmy Army to take the honours in the final game, extend their winning run to seven games and go two points clear at the top of the table.

A rearranged fixture in the Small Heath League produced a table topping clash between the league’s top two sides, Bromford Bridge Social Club ’A’ and Mitre. Bromford won the tussle 5-4 and move into a four points advantage over the rest of the field.

Division two of the Tamworth Cue Sports League also brought together the two leading teams, Royal Oak and Three Horse Shoes. Ground was neither, gained or lost as the result was a 4-4 draw leaving Royal Oak two points ahead of the Shoes.
