Warwickshire County Darts Organisation get their 2005/06 campaign in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championship underway on the weekend of the 10th and 11th September. Their programme begins with an away fixture against Kent at the Six In One Club, Tonbridge, Kent.

Despite a 2-1 defeat by Pete Stevens, Mark Birch continues to lead the field in the Brook Meadow Individual League. Birch was quick to return to winning ways as he accounted for John Whitehouse with a straight 3-0 win in which he hit 180,140,135,121 and 4x100 to hang on to a five points advantage over reigning champion Robbie Earl, who is currently in second spot.

There were 180’s galore in group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League this week. It was one each for the Iron Horse and group leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners, D.Kilbey for the former and T.White for the latter, Saltely had an emphatic 8-0 victory. J.Pears was the maxi man for Fordbridge Social, helping them to a 6-2 success at Sheldon Dukes, while D.Young was Mackadown Social’s to shot in a 7-1 win at RAFA.
Group three’s K.Brush (Shard End RBL ‘A’ was another player to find the three treble twenties in a 4-4 draw with the Raven and to complete the list was C.Bray (Sheldon and Marlboro) in group four, his side went down 6-2 at home to the Harvester.

The Small Heath League have played off their 501 singles knockout and the new champion is Trevor Frost, who represented league winners Mitre. Frost won the title with a final victory over Scouse O’Brian, who plays for the Victoria 301 Club.
Losing semi-finalists were John Burdett (Mitre) and Terry Webster (Gunmakers Arms).

There was a top of the table clash in the Rik-Fit Summer League, with current leaders Greenlands travelling to take on second in the league Hawthorns. The result was a close 5-4 to Greenlands which opens up a two points gap between the two teams, with Greenlands also having the further advantage of a game in hand.
Dingle remain rooted the bottom of the table, still seeking their first win of the campaign, their latest encounter saw them go down 7-2 at Greenlands Flights.

In the Kings Norton 501 Summer League Camp maintained their pole position and two point’s advantage with a good 5-2 victory over Stirchley United WMC, while their nearest rivals, Navigation had a close 4-3 verdict in their encounter at the Perfection.
